31 Yehoahaz was twenty-three when he became king, and he reigned from Yerushalem for only three months. (His mother was Yirmeyah’s daughter Hamutal from Livnah.) 32 He did what Yahweh had said was evil like many of his ancestors had done. 33 Far-oh Nekoh took him from Yerushalem and imprisoned him at Rivlah in the Hamat region, and he forced the residents of Yehudah to pay him thirty kilograms of gold and three tonnes of silver. 34 Then Nekoh appointed Yoshiyah’s son Elyakim as the new king but changed his name to Yehoyakim. Then he took Yehoahaz to Egypt where he eventually died.

36 Then the people of Yehudah took Yoshiyah’s son Yehoahaz and made him king in Yerushalem to replace his father. 2 Yehoahaz was twenty-three when he became king, and he reigned from Yerushalem for only three months 3 before Egypt’s king deposed him and forced the country to pay an annual tribute of thirty kilograms of gold, and three tonnes of silver. 4 Egypt’s King Neko took Yehoahaz to Egypt, and then the king made his younger brother Elyakim king over Yehudah and Yerushalem, although he changed Elyakim’s name to Yehoyakim.[ref]
