25:35 Assisting the poor
35 If a fellow citizen becomes poor and is unable to survive beside you, then you must support that person and allow him to live with you like a foreigner might.[ref] 36 You mustn’t charge that person any interest or make a profit from him, but you must respect and obey your god, and your fellow citizen can continue to live with you. 37 If you loan him money, don’t charge interest or make a profit from his food.[ref] 38 I am your god Yahweh who brought you all out of Egypt (Heb. Mitsrayim) to give you the Kanaan region and to be your god.
Deu 15:7-8:
7 In the towns that your god Yahweh is giving you, if it so happens that any of your fellow Israelis are poor, then don’t just ignore them and refuse to help them,[ref] 8 but instead, open your wallet and lend them however much they need.
Exo 22:25:
25 If you loan money to any my people who are poor, you mustn’t act like an impartial creditor to them—you mustn’t charge them interest.[ref]
Deu 23:19-20:
19 You mustn’t charge interest to your fellow Israeli, whether it’s money or food or anything else that’s borrowed.[ref] 20 You can charge foreigners interest, but not fellow Israelis so that your god Yahweh will bless your society in everything you do in the land that you’re about to occupy.
