χαρίζομαι

Strong’s: G5483

Associated OET lemmas: χαρίζομαι

Notes: In the classification of χαρίζομαι[a] there is obviously a problem of what might be called fuzzy sets, since these meanings may involve not only the transfer of actual objects but may often refer equally well to more generalized activities in which one person treats another graciously and generously (see 88.66: χάρις / 88.66: χαριτόω). As such, these meanings could very well be classified under certain aspects of Domain 25 Attitudes and Emotions, though there seems to be no clear-cut distinction. Rather, there seems to be a gradient from one aspect of meaning to another.; The form of χαρίζομαι in RV PHM 1:22 · LV PHM 1:22 · Read together PHM 1:22 may best be understood as a passive in contrast with the middle forms of χαρίζομαι which occur with an active sense.
