27 And when it _ was_ judged which us to _ be_ sailing_ away to the Italia , they _ were_ giving_ over the both Paulos and some other prisoners , to _ a _ centurion by _ the _ name Youlios , of _ the _ cohort of _ Augustus/(Sebastos) .
2 And having _ boarded on _ a _ Adramuttaʸnos _ ship , we _ were_ launched going to _ be_ sailing to the places along the Asia , of _ Aristarⱪos being with us , a _ from_ Makedonia of _ from_ Thessalonikaʸ .
3 Both on _ the next day we _ were_ set_ down at Sidōn/(Tsīdōn) , and the Youlios having _ given_ treatment with _ human_ kindness to _ the _ Paulos , he _ permitted him having _ been_ gone to his friends , to _ obtain of _ care .
4 And _ from_ there having _ been_ launched , we _ sailed_ under the Kupros , because _ of that the winds to _ be contrary .
5 And having _ sailed_ across the sea which along the Kilikia and Pamfulia , we _ came_ down to Mura of _ the _ Lukia .
6 And _ there the centurion having _ found a _ from _ Alexandria _ ship , sailing to the Italia , he _ placed_ in us into it .
7 And in many days , slow _ sailing and with _ difficulty , having _ become along the Knidos , the wind not further _ permitting us , we _ sailed_ under the Kraʸtaʸ along Salmōn/(Salmōn)e .
8 And sailing _ along it with _ difficulty , we _ came to a _ certain _ place being _ called Beautiful Harbours , to _ which was near the _ city Lasaia .
9 And much time having _ elapsed , and the voyage already being dangerous , because _ of that even the fasting already to _ have_ passed_ by , the Paulos was _ advising them 10 saying to _ them :
Men , I _ am_ perceiving that the voyage to _ be_ going going _ to_ be with damage and much loss , not only of _ the cargo and to _ the ship , but also the lives of _ us .
11 But the centurion was _ being_ persuaded by _ the captain and the ship _ owner rather , than by _ the being _ spoken by Paulos .
12 And the harbour being unsuitable to winter , the more presented a _ counsel to _ be_ launched from _ there , if somehow they _ might_ be_ able , having _ arrived at Foinix , to _ winter a _ harbour of _ the _ Kraʸtaʸ , looking to the _ southwest and to the _ northwest .
13 And of _ a _ south_ wind having _ blown_ gently , having _ supposed of _ the purpose to _ have_ taken_ hold , having _ taken_ up they _ were_ sailing_ along nearer the Kraʸtaʸ .
14 But after not much time , a _ typhoon _ wind , which being _ called the _ Eurokludōn throw down .
from _ it .
15 And the ship having _ been_ seized , and not being _ able to _ be_ facing to _ the wind , having _ given_ up we _ were_ being_ driven_ along .
16 And having _ run_ under a _ certain island being _ called Klaudaʸ , we _ were_ able with _ difficulty to _ become control of _ the lifeboat , 17 which having _ taken_ up , they _ were_ resorting to _ helps , undergirding the ship .
And fearing lest they _ may_ run_ aground into the shallows _ of Surtis , having _ lowered the gear , thus they _ were_ being_ driven_ along .
18 And of _ us being _ violently _ storm_ tossed , on _ the_ next _ day they _ were_ making a _ jettison , 19 and on _ the third day , they _ threw_ down the tackle of _ the ship ^their _ own_ hands .
20 And neither sun nor stars appearing for more days , and no little storm laying _ on us , furthermore all hope , which us to _ be_ being_ saved was _ being_ taken_ away .
21 And of _ much abstinence being , then the Paulos having _ been_ stood in midst of _ them said :
It _ was_ fitting indeed , Oh men , having _ yielded to _ me , not to _ be_ being_ launched from the Kraʸtaʸ , and to _ gain the this damage , and the loss .
22 And _ yet now I _ am_ advising you _ all the to _ be_ cheering_ up , because/for not _ one loss of _ life will _ be of you _ all , except of _ the ship .
23 For/Because an _ messenger of _ the _ god stood _ by me this the night , of _ whose I _ am , unto _ whom also I _ am_ serving , 24 saying :
Be _ not _ fearing , Paulos , it _ is_ fitting you to _ stand_ before before _ Kaisar , and see , the god has _ granted to _ you all the sailing with you .
25 Therefore be _ cheering_ up , men , because/for I _ am_ believing in _ - god that thus it _ will_ be , according _ to which manner it _ has_ been_ spoken to _ me .
26 But it _ is_ fitting us to _ run_ aground on a _ certain island .
27 But when the _ fourteenth night became , us being _ carried_ through in the Adrias _ Sea , to the _ middle of _ the night , the sailors were _ suspecting a _ certain to _ be_ coming_ near to _ them land .
28 And having _ taken_ soundings , they _ found twenty fathoms , and a _ little time having _ passed_ by , and again having _ taken_ soundings , they _ found fifteen fathoms .
29 And fearing lest we _ may_ run_ aground somewhere on rough places , having _ thrown_ down four anchors from the _ stern , they _ were_ hoping for _ day to _ become .
30 And the the _ sailors seeking to _ flee out _ of the ship , and having _ lowered the lifeboat into the sea , on _ under_ pretense as going to _ be_ stretching_ out anchors from the _ bow , 31 the Paulos said to _ the centurion and to _ the soldiers :
If these may _ not _ remain in the ship , you _ all are _ not _ being_ able to _ be_ saved .
32 Then the soldiers cut _ off the ropes of _ the lifeboat , and they _ allowed her to _ run_ aground .
33 And until of _ which day was _ going to _ be_ becoming , the Paulos was _ exhorting all , to _ partake of _ food saying :
Today the _ fourteenth day is , you _ all_ are_ continuing waiting foodless , having _ taken nothing .
34 Therefore I _ am_ exhorting you _ all to _ partake of _ food , because/for this is _ being for the your salvation , because/for a _ hair from the head of _ no_ one of _ you_ all will _ be_ perishing .
35 And having _ said these , and having _ taken bread , he _ gave_ thanks to _ the _ god before all , and having _ broke it , he _ began to _ be_ eating .
36 And all having _ become cheerful , they also received of _ food .
37 And we _ were the all souls in the ship , two _ hundred seventy six .
38 And having _ been_ satiated of _ food , they _ were_ lightening the ship , throwing _ out the wheat into the sea .
39 And when day became , they _ were_ not _ recognizing the land , but were _ observing a _ certain bay having a _ shore , on which they _ were_ counselling , if they _ might_ be_ able to _ preserve the ship .
40 And having _ cut_ away the anchors , they _ were_ allowing them in the sea , at _ once having _ unfastened the ropes of _ the rudders , and having _ lifted_ up the foresail to _ the wind blowing , they _ were_ keeping for the shore .
41 But having _ fallen_ among into a _ place two _ sea , they _ ran_ the ship _ aground , and on _ one_ hand the bow having _ stuck remained unshakeable , on _ the_ other_ hand the stern was _ being_ destroyed by the force .
42 And of _ the soldiers , the _ counsel became that they _ may_ kill_ off the prisoners , lest anyone having _ swum_ away may _ escape .
43 But the centurion wishing to _ bring_ The Paulos _ safely_ through , because/forbade them of _ their counsel , and he _ commanded the being _ able to _ be_ swimming , having _ thrown_ off themselves first , to _ be_ departing on the land , 44 and the rest , on _ one_ hand some on planks , on _ the_ other_ hand some on some which from the ship .
And thus it _ became , all to _ be_ brought_ safely_ through to the land .
