47 After Sha’ul (Saul) had taken on the kingship of Yisrael (Israel), he fought against their enemies from all around: against the Moavim, the Amonim, the Edomim, the kings of Tsovah, and against the Pelishtim. Wherever he turned, he punished his enemies. 48 He acted bravely and defeated even the Amalekim, always rescuing Yisrael from those who came in to plunder it.

49 Sha’ul’s sons were Yonatan (Jonathan), Yishvi, and Malkishua. His oldest daughter was Merav, and the younger one was Mikal. 50 His wife’s name was Ahinoam (daughter of Ahima’ats). His army commander was Avner (son of Sha’ul’s uncle Ner—51 Kish was Sha’ul’s father, and Avner’s father Ner was Aviel’s son).

52 The conflict with the Pelishtim was intensive for all of Sha’ul’s life, so whenever he saw a good warrior or any strong, young man, then he would conscript them.

47 And_Shāʼūl he_had_taken the_royalty over Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) and_he_waged_war all_around in_all enemies_of_his against_Mōʼāⱱ and_against_the_people_of ˊAmmōn and_against_ʼEdōm and_against_the_kings_of Tsōⱱāh/(Zobah) and_against_Pəlishtiy and_in_every where he_turned he_acted_wickedly.

48 And_he/it_made strength and_he_defeated DOM ˊAmālēq and_he_delivered DOM Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) from_the_hand_of those_who_plundered_it.

49 And_ the_sons_of Shāʼūl _they_were Yōnātān and_Yishvī/(Ishvi) and_Malkī- shūˊa and_name_of the_two_of daughters_of_his the_name_of the_firstborn was_Mērāⱱ and_name_of the_young_one was_Mīkāl.

50 And_name_of the_wife_of Shāʼūl/(Saul) was_ʼAḩīnoˊam the_daughter_of ʼAḩīmaˊaʦ and_name_of the_commander_of his_army_of_his was_ʼAⱱnēr the_son_of Nēr the_uncle_of Shāʼūl.

51 And_Qīsh was_the_father_of Shāʼūl and_Nēr the_father_of ʼAⱱnēr was_the_son_of ʼAⱱī^ʼēl.

52 And_it_became the_war severe on the_Pəlishtiy all_of the_days_of Shāʼūl and_ Shāʼūl _he_saw every_of man mighty and_all son_of strength and_he_gathered_him to_him/it.
