16 Some people from the Pharisees’ party and some from the Sadducee sect approached Yeshua, and, trying to tempt him, they asked him to make a sign in the sky to show his power to them.[ref] 2 But he replied, 3 ◘ 4 “This is an evil and adulterous generation that’s wanting a sign, and no sign will be given to it except for the sign of Yonah.” Then he left them and went away.[ref]
11 Some men from the Pharisee party came out to Yeshua and started arguing with him. They were checking him out and wanted to see a miracle.[ref] 12 Yeshua grieved inside and asked, “Why do you people need to see a miracle before you’ll believe me? Actually, no miracle will be done for this generation.”[ref]
13 So Yeshua left in the boat again and crossed to the other side of the lake.

54 Yeshua also told the crowds, “Whenever you see a cloud coming from the west, you all say that it’s going to rain, and sure enough it does. 55 Likewise if there’s a wind from the south, you all say that it’s going to be a scorcher, and sure enough it is. 56 Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the sky and the ground, but you all don’t know how to scrutinise this time period.

29 The crowds had grown even larger, but Yeshua told them, “This generation is evil because they’re requesting a miracle and the only miracle that will be given to them will be the miracle of Yonah (Jonah).[ref]
