Psalmes 28

P S A L. XXVII.

1 Dauid sustaineth his faith, by the power of God, 4 By his loue to the seruice of God, 9 By prayer.

[ref]A Psalme of Dauid.

XXVIII¶ The LORD is my light, and my saluation, whome shal I feare? the LORD is the strength of my life, of whō shall I be afraid? 2[fn]When the wicked, euen mine enemies and my foes came vpon me to eat vp my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 3[ref]Though an host should encampe against me, my heart shall not feare: though warre should rise against me, in this will I be confident. 4[fn]One thing haue I desired of the LORD, that will I seeke after: that I may dwel in the house of the LORD, all the dayes of my life, to behold the beautie of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple. 5For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pauilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me, hee shall set me vp vpon a rocke. 6[fn]And now shall mine head be lifted vp aboue mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of ioy, I will sing, yea, I will sing praises vnto the LORD. 7Heare, O LORD, when I crie with my voice: haue mercie also vpon mee, and answere me. 8[fn]When thou saidst, Seeke ye my face, my heart said vnto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seeke. 9Hide not thy face farre frō me, put not thy seruant away in anger: thou hast bin my helpe, leaue me not, neither forsake me, O God of my saluation. 10[fn]When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me vp. 11[ref][fn][fn]Teach me thy way, O LORD, and leade me in a plaine path, because of mine enemies. 12Deliuer me not ouer vnto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen vp against me, and such as breath out crueltie. 13I had fainted, vnlesse I had beleeued to see the goodnesse of the LORD in the land of the liuing. 14[ref]Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

P S A L. XXVIII.

1 Dauid prayeth earnestly against his enemies. 6 He blesseth God. 9 Hee prayeth for the people.

[ref][fn]A Psalme of Dauid.

XXVIII¶ Vnto thee will I cry, O LORD, my rocke, be not silent to mee: lest if thou be silent to me, I become like them that goe downe into the pit. 2[fn]Heare the voyce of my supplications, when I cry vnto thee: when I lift vp my handes toward thy holy Oracle. 3[ref]Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquitie: which speake peace to their neighbors, but mischiefe is in their hearts. 4Giue them according to their deedes, and according to the wickednes of their endeuours: giue them after the worke of their handes, render to them their desert. 5Because they regard not the workes of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shal destroy them, and not build them vp. 6Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voyce of my supplications. 7The LORD is my strength, and my shield, my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly reioyceth, and with my song will I praise him. 8[fn][fn]The LORD is their strength, and hee is the sauing strength of his Anointed. 9[fn]Saue thy people, and blesse thine inheritance, feede them also, and lift them vp for euer.
