Literal Version

5:13 Being salt and light

(Mark 9:50, Luke 14:34-35)

13[ref]You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt is made tasteless, what would you all use to salt your food? The salt wouldn’t be useful for anything anymore and would just get thrown out and trampled on by the people.

14[ref]You are the light of the world. A city up on a hill can’t be hidden. 15[ref]No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket—you put it on a lampstand and it lightens up the house. 16[ref]In the same way, let your light shine in front of everyone, so that they can see your good behaviour and then might praise your father in the heavens.

13You_all are the salt of_the earth, but if the salt may_be_made_tasteless, with what it_will_be_being_salted?
It_is_being_effective for nothing anymore, except not/lest having_been_throw out, to_be_being_trampled by the people.
14You_all are the light of_the world.
A_city lying on a_mountain is_ not _able to_be_hidden.
15And_not they_are_lighting a_lamp and are_putting it under the a_basket, but on the lampstand, and it_is_shining for_all the ones in the house.
16Thus let_ the light of_you_all _shine before the people, so_that they_may_see the good works of_you_all, and may_glorify the father of_you_all which in the heavens.
