The area assigned to Reuben’s descendants

13:15 The area assigned to Reuben’s descendants

15This was the land that Mosheh gave to the tribe of Reuben, according to their clans: 16The area from Aroer (on the edge of the Arnon riverbed) along to the town in the middle of the valley, to the plateau near Medeba, 17Heshbon and all it’s cities on the plateau, including Dibon, Bamot-Baal, Beyt-Baal-Meon, 18Yahaz, Kedemot, Mefaat, 19Kiriathaim, Sibmah, and Zeret-Shahar on the hill within the valley. 20It also includes Beyt-Peor, the slopes of the Pisgah, Beyt-Yeshimot, 21and all the cities on the plateau, and all the kingdom of Sihon (the king of the Amorites who had reigned in Heshbon) who Mosheh had defeated, he and the leaders of Midian: Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba (the princes of Sihon who had lived in the land). 22The Israelis also killed Balaam (Beor’s son who practiced divination) along with others. 23The border for Rueben’s descendants was the Yordan River. So that was the inheritance of Rueben’s descendants—all the cities and their villages allocated to their clans.
