2:12 The message to the assembly in Pergamum

12 To the assembly’s messenger in Pergamum write:

The one with the sharp sword says these things: 13 “I know where you live: where Satan’s throne is. Despite that, you firmly believe in me and you haven’t denied your faith in me, even when Antipas, the faithful man who told others about me was killed in your city, where Satan lives. 14 But I do have a few things against you: you have some people there who hold to the ancient prophet Balaam’s teaching.[ref] He taught Moab’s king, Balak, how to tempt the Israelis and to eat food that had been sacrificed to idols, and to be sexually immoral. 15 In the same way, some of you also follow the teachings of Nicolaus’ disciples.[fn] 16 So turn away from all that, otherwise I’ll come soon and battle against them with the word of my mouth.

17 Everyone who wants to understand needs to listen to what God’s spirit is saying to the assemblies.

Anyone who stays true will be given hidden food from heaven, and I’ll give each of them a white stone with a new name written on it that no one knows apart from the person receiving it.”[ref]

12 And to _the messenger of _the in Pergamos assembly write:

13 I _have _known where you _are _dwelling, where the throne of_ the _Satan is, and you _are _taking _hold _of the name of _me, and not disowned the faith of _me, even in the days of _Antipas, the witness of _me the faithful of _me, who was _killed _off among you _all, where the Satan is _dwelling.
14 But I _am _having against you a_few things, because you _are _having some there taking _hold _of the teaching of _Balaʼam/(Bilˊām), who was _teaching the to _Balak to _throw a_temptation before the sons of _Israaʸl/(Yisrā^ʼēl), to _eat idol _sacrificed things and to _commit _sexual _immorality.
15 Thus are _having some also you, taking _hold _of the teaching of_the_Nikolaitaʸs likewise.
16 Therefore repent.
And if not, I _am _coming to _you quickly, and I _will _be _warring with them with the sword of _the mouth of _me.
17 The one having an_ear, him _let _hear what the spirit is _saying to _the assemblies.
To _the one overcoming, I _will _be _giving to _him of _the manna which having _been _hidden, and I _will _be _giving to _him a_stone white, and on the stone a_name new having _been _written, which no _one has _known, except not/lest the one receiving it.
