Songs 43/The requesting at time of conflict

Psa 43:1–5

43God, declare me to be innocent,

and defend my case against an unfaithful nation.

Deliver me from deceitful and evil people.

2For you are the God who’s my place of safety.

Why have you rejected me?

Why do I walk around mourning because of an enemy’s oppression?

3Send out your light and your truth—let them lead me.

Let them bring me to your sacred mountain

and to your residence.

4I will go to God’s altar

to the God who gives me great fulfillment.

I will praise you with the harp, oh God, my God.

5My soul, why are you bowed down?

And why are you upset within me?

Put your hope in God, because I’ll thank him again

my God’s presence leads to my being saved.
