30 So then, what should we say? That non-Jews who weren’t godly reached out by faith to achieve righteousness, 31 but Jews who chased after righteousness by obeying The Law didn’t achieve it? 32 How come? Because they tried to reach it by actions and not by faith. They tripped over the stumbling stone, 33 [ref]as it’s written:
‘Look, I’m laying down a stumbling stone in Tsiyyon/Zion,
10 Brothers and sisters, my heart would be very pleased indeed if Israelis would get rescued, and that’s what I request from God. 2 I keep telling them that they’re very zealous for God, yet they lack know-how. 3 Because they didn’t know what God’s righteousness is, and they tried to establish their own system, they weren’t covered by his righteousness. 4 The fulfilment of The Law is Messiah, leading to righteousness for everyone who believes.
Isa 28:16 (LXX):
16 Therefore, my master Yahweh says:
Look, I’ve put a foundation stone in place in Tsiyyon—one that’s been tested.
It’s a valuable cornerstone—a reliable foundation.
Anyone who trusts in it won’t have to rush away.[ref]
