9:35 King Sha’ul’s ancestors and descendants

(1 Chr. 8:29-38)

35 Another of Benyamin’s descendants was Yeiel. He was a founder of Giveon city and lived there. His wife was Ma’akah. 36 His oldest son was Avdon, and his other sons were Tsur, Kish, Ba’al, Ner, Nadav, 37 Gedor, Ahyo, Zekaryah (Zechariah), and Miklot. 38 Miklot was Shim’am’s father. They also lived near their relatives in Yerushalem (Jerusalem).

39 Ner was the father of Kish. Kish was the father of King Sha’ul (Saul). Sha’ul was the father of Yonatan (Jonathan), Malkishua, Avinadav, and Eshba’al. 40 Yonatan’s son was Meriv-Ba’al. Meriv-Ba’al was the father of Mikah. 41 Mikah’s sons were Piton, Melek, and Tahrea. 42 Ahaz was the father of Yaerah. Yaerah was the father of Alemet, Azmavet, and Zimri. Zimri was the father of Motsa. 43 Motsa was the father of Binea. Refayah was Binea’s son. Eleasah was Refayah’s son. Atsel was Eleasah’s son.

44 Atsel had six sons, named Azrikam, Bokru, Yishmael (Ishmael), Shearyah, Ovadyah (Obadiah), and Hanan.

35 And_in_Giⱱˊōn they _dwelt the _father _of Giⱱˊōn Yəˊī^ʼēl/(Jeiel)[fn] and_name _of his/its_wife/woman was_Maˊₐkāh.

36 And_son _of_his the_firstborn was_ˊAⱱdōn and_Tsūr/(Tsūr) and_Qīsh and_Baˊal and_Nēr and_Nādāⱱ.

37 And_Gədor and_ʼAḩyō and_Zəkar^yāh and_Miqlōt.

38 And_Miqlōt he _fathered DOM Shimˊāʼm and_also they before relatives _of_their they _dwelt in_Yərūshālaim/(Jerusalem) with relatives _of_their.

39 And_Nēr he _fathered DOM Qīsh and_Qīsh he _fathered DOM Shāʼūl/(Saul) and_Shāʼūl he _fathered DOM Yōnātān/(Yəhōnātān/(Jonathan)) and_DOM Malkī- Shūˊa and_DOM ʼAⱱīnādāⱱ and_DOM ʼAshbaˊal.

40 And_the _son _of Yōnātān was_Mərīⱱ-baˊal was_Mərīⱱ-baˊal and_Mərīⱱ- baˊal he _fathered DOM Mīkāh.

41 And_the _sons of _Mīkāh were_Pitōn and_Melek and_Taḩrēˊa.

42 And_ʼĀḩāz he _fathered DOM Yaˊrāh/(Jarah) and_Yaˊrāh/(Jarah) he _fathered DOM ˊĀlemet and_DOM ˊAzmāvet and_DOM Zimrī and_Zimrī he _fathered DOM Mōʦāʼ.

43 And_Mōʦāʼ he _fathered DOM Binˊāʼ and_Rəfā^yāh son _of_was_his ʼElˊāsāh son _of_was_his ʼĀʦēl his/its_son.

44 And_belonged_to_ʼĀʦēl six sons and_these names _of_are_their ˊAzrīqām Bokrū and_Yishmāˊ^ʼēl/(Ishmael) and_Shəˊar^yāh and_ˊOⱱad^yāh and_Ḩānān these were_the _sons _of ʼĀʦēl.
