3 Yahweh told me, “Go again and love a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, even as Yahweh loves the Israeli people, even though they turn to other gods and honour them with raisin cakes.”

2 So I bought her for myself for fifteen silver coins and ten baskets of barley. 3 I told her, “You must stay with me for some time. You mustn’t dabble in prostitution or mess with any other man. In the same way, I’ll be true to you.” 4 Because the Israeli people will continue for many days without a king or prince, a sacrifice or stone pillar, and an ephod or household idols. 5 Afterwards, the Israeli people will return and want to follow Yahweh their god and David their king, and in the final days, they’ll come trembling to Yahweh and to his goodness.
