13:22 War between Yisrael and Aram/Syria

Northern kingdom

22 Aram’s (Syria) King Hazael oppressed Yisrael (Israel) all through Yehoahaz’s reign, 23 but Yahweh showed favour to the Israelis and felt compassionate towards them. Because of his agreement with Avraham, Yitshak (Isaac), and Ya’akov (Jacob), he didn’t want to destroy them, and he hasn’t tossed them out even to this day.

24 When Aram’s King Hazael died, his son Ben-Hadad replaced him as king. 25 Then Yehoahaz’s son Yehoash attacked Aram three times, and he took back the cities from Hazael’s son Ben-Hadad that had been taken in the war in his father Yehoahaz’s time.

22 And_Ḩₐzā^ʼēl the_king_of ʼArām he_had_oppressed DOM Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) all_of the_days_of Yəhōʼāḩāz/(Jehoahaz).

23 And_ YHWH _he_showed_favour_to DOM_them and_he_had_compassion_on_them and_he_turned to_them on_account_of covenant_of_his with ʼAⱱrāhām Yiʦḩāq/(Isaac) and_Yaˊₐqoⱱ/(Jacob) and_not he_was_willing to_destroy_them and_not he_threw_them from_under his/its_faces/face until now.

24 And_ Ḩₐzā^ʼēl the_king_of ʼArām _he/it_died and_ Ben Hₐdad his/its_son _he_became_king in_place_of_him.

25 And_ Yəhōʼāsh/(Jehoash) the_son_of Yəhōʼāḩāz _he_returned and_he/it_took DOM the_cities from_the_hand_of Ben the_son_of Ḩₐzā^ʼēl which he_had_taken from_the_hand_of Yəhōʼāḩāz his/its_father in_battle three times he_defeated_him Yōʼāsh/(Joash) and_he_restored DOM the_cities_of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel).
