Mat 10:1–4

Mark 3:13–19

Luke 6:12–16

10:1 Yeshua commissions the twelve

(Mark 3:13-19, Luke 6:12-16)

10Then calling his twelve apprentices, he gave them authority over evil spirits so they could drive them out, and they could heal every disease and sickness. 2These are the names of the twelve: Simon (nicknamed Peter) and his brother Andrew, Yacob and his brother Yohan (the sons of Zebedee), 3Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector, Yacob (nicknamed Thaddeus, son of Alphaeus), 4Simon (member of the Caananites) and Yudas Iscariot (who eventually turned Yeshua in).

3:13 Yeshua appoints his twelve representatives

(Mat. 10:1-4, Luke 6:12-16)

13As Yeshua started climbing up a hill, he called the followers that he had selected, and they went off with him. 14He appointed twelve of them as his representatives so that they could stick with him and be sent off to be proclaiming his message 15and to also have authority to exorcise demons.

16These are the twelve that he appointed: Simon (but he appended the name “Peter”), 17Yacob and his brother Yohan who were Zebedee’s sons (and he nicknamed them the “sons of thunder”), 18Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, Yacob Alphaeus, Thaddeus, Simon from Canaan, 19and Yudas Iscariot who later betrayed him.

6:12 Yeshua chooses twelve to be missionaries

(Mark 3:13-19, Mat. 10:1-4)

12One day Yeshua climbed a hill to pray, and then he spent the night there praying to God. 13In the morning, he called together his followers, and chose twelve of them that he then called ‘missionaries’: 14Simon (who he also named Peter) and his brother Andrew, Yacob and Yohan, Philip and Bartholomew, 15Matthew and Thomas, Jacob (Alphaeus’ son), Simon (the one known as a Zealot), 16Yudas (son of Yacob), and Yudas Iscariot (who eventually betrayed him).
