1Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy the brother, 2To the saints in Colossae and faithful brothers in Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father. 3We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying continually for you, 4having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love that you have toward all the saints, 5because of the hope being laid up for you in the heavens, which you heard of before in the word of truth, the gospel, 6the one being present unto you, just as also in all the world it is bearing fruit and increasing, just as also among you from the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth, 7just as you learned from Epaphras, our beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on behalf of us, 8the one also having made known to us your love in the Spirit. 9Because of this also, we from the day we heard, do not cease praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding 10to walk worthily of the Lord: pleasing in all, bringing forth fruit in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God, 11being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might, unto all endurance and patience with joy, 12giving thanks to the Father, the One having qualified you for the share of the inheritance of the saints in light, 13who has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, 16because in Him were created all things in the heavens and upon the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or lordships or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and unto Him. 17And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, firstborn out from the dead, so that He might be holding preeminence in all things, 19because all the fullness was pleased to dwell in Him, 20and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace by the blood of His cross through Him, whether the things on the earth or the things in the heavens. 21And you, being once alienated and hostile in mind, in the evil deeds, 22but now He has reconciled in His body of flesh through death, to present you holy and unblemished and blameless before Him, 23if indeed you continue in the faith, established and firm, and not being moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, having been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, of which I Paul have become a minister. 24Now I rejoice in the sufferings for you, and I am filling up in my flesh that which is lacking of the tribulations of Christ for His body, which is the church, 25of which I became a minister according to the administration of God having been given me toward you, to complete the word of God, 26the mystery having been hidden from the ages and from the generations, but now having been manifested to His saints, 27to whom God has willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory, 28whom we preach, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, so that we may present every man perfect in Christ. 29Unto this also I toil, striving according to His energy, working in me in power. 2For I want you to know how great a struggle I am having for you, and those in Laodicea, and as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, 2that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and to all the riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, which is Christ, 3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and of knowledge. 4I say this so that no one might delude you by persuasive speech. 5Truly indeed, if I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing and seeing your good order and the firmness of your faith in Christ. 6Therefore, just as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him, 7having been rooted and being built up in Him, and being strengthened in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding with thanksgiving. 8Take heed lest there will be anyone taking you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the principles of the world and not according to Christ. 9For in Him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily. 10And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all rule and authority, 11in whom also you were circumcised with the circumcision made without hands in the removal of the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ, 12having been buried with Him in baptism, in which also you were raised with Him through the faith of the working of God, the One having raised Him out from the dead. 13And you being dead in the trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14having blotted out the handwriting in the decrees against us, which was adverse to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15Having disarmed the rulers and the authorities, He made a show of them in public, having triumphed over them in it. 16Therefore let no one judge you in regard to food, or in regard to drink, or in regard to a feast, or a New Moon, or Sabbaths, 17which are a shadow the things coming. But the body is of Christ. 18Let no one disqualify you, delighting in humility and the worship of the angels, detailing what he has seen, being puffed up vainly by his mind of the flesh, 19and not holding fast to the head, from whom the whole body, being supplied and being knit together by the joints and ligaments, increases with the increase of God. 20If you have died with Christ, away from the principles of the world, why as if living in the world do you submit to decrees: 21"You should not handle! You should not taste! You should not touch!"?-- 22which are all unto decay with the use, according to the precepts and teachings of men, 23which having indeed an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed worship and humility and harsh treatment of the body, are not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh. 3If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on the things above, not the things on the earth. 3For you have died, and your life has been hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ your life may be revealed, then you also will appear with Him in glory. 5Therefore put to death the members which are upon the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry, 6because of which things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience, 7in which you also once walked when you were living in them. 8But now you also put off all these things: anger, rage, malice, slander, foul language out of your mouth. 9Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his practices, 10and having put on the new, the one being renewed in knowledge according to the image of the one having created him, 11where there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, slave, and free; but Christ is all and in all. 12Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, 13bearing with each other and forgiving each other. If anyone should have a complaint against another, even as also the Lord has forgiven you, so also you. 14And beyond all these, put on love, which is the bond of perfect unity. 15And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing each other in all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with grace in your hearts to God. 17And all, whatever you might do in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. 18Wives, submit yourselves to the husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19Husbands, love the wives and do not be harsh toward them. 20Children, obey the parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord. 21Fathers, do not provoke your children lest they might become discouraged. 22Slaves, obey the earthly masters in all things, not with eye-services as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. 23Whatever you might do, work from the soul, as to the Lord and not to men, 24knowing that you will receive from the Lord the reward of the inheritance. You serve the Lord Christ! 25For the one doing wrong will be repaid for what he has done wrong; and there is no partiality. 4Masters, give to the slaves that which is righteous and that which is equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven. 2Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching in it, with thanksgiving, 3praying at the same time also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which also I have been bound, 4so that I should make it clear, as it behooves me to speak. 5Walk in wisdom toward those outside, redeeming the time. 6Let your speech be always in grace, having been seasoned with salt, to know how it behooves you to answer each one. 7All the things concerning me, Tychicus will make known to you, the beloved brother and faithful servant and fellow bond-servant in the Lord, 8whom I sent to you for this very purpose, that you might know the things concerning us, and he may encourage your hearts, 9with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will make known to you all things here. 10Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, greets you, and Mark, the cousin of Barnabas, concerning whom you have received instructions--if he comes to you, welcome him-- 11and also Jesus called Justus, these being the only fellow workers for the kingdom of God among the circumcision, who have been a comfort to me. 12Epaphras greets you, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, always struggling for you in the prayers, so that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God. 13For I bear witness to him that he has great concern for you and those in Laodicea and those in Hierapolis. 14Luke, the beloved physician, greets you, and also Demas. 15Greet the brothers in Laodicea, and also Nympha and the church in her house. 16And when the letter shall be read among you, cause that it may be read also in the church of the Laodiceans, and that you also may read the one from Laodicea. 17And say to Archippus: "Take heed to the ministry that you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it." 18The greeting is in the own hand--Paul. Remember my chains. Grace be with you.
