The parable about the dragnet

This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.

Readers’ Version

Literal Version

13:47 The parable about the dragnet

47Also the kingdom of the heavens is like a dragnet that was thrown into the lake and picked up everything from under the water. 48When it was full, they pulled it up onto the beach and sat and sorted the catch—throwing the good catch into containers and throwing out the bad stuff. 49It’ll be just like that at the end of this age—God’s messengers will be coming out and will separate evil people from the godly people, 50and they will throw the evil ones into the incinerator. There will be crying and great anguish.

51Did you all understand all of that?

“Yes,” his apprentices answered.

52Then he said to them, “Because of this, every teacher who’s been trained about the kingdom of the heavens is like a person who’s a home owner who gives presents of both new and old things of out their valuables.

47Again the kingdom of_the heavens is similar to_a_dragnet having_been_throw into the sea and having_gathered_together of every kind, 48which when it_was_filled, having_pulled_up on the shore and having_sat_down, they_gathered the good into containers, and the bad they_throw out.
49Thus it_will_be in the completion of_the age, the messengers will_be_coming_out, and will_be_setting_apart the evil from the_midst of_the righteous, 50and they_will_be_throwing them into the furnace of_the fire.
There will_be the weeping and the grating of_ the _teeth.
51You_all_understood all these things?
They_are_saying to_him:
Yes.
52And he said to_them:
Because_of this, every scribe having_been_trained in_the kingdom of_the heavens is similar to_a_man, a_home_owner, who is_sending_forth new things and old things out_of the treasure of_him.
