33:21 Yehudah’s King Amon

Southern kingdom

(2 Kgs 21:19-26)

21 Amon was twenty-two when he became king, and he ruled from Yerushalem for two years. 22 He did what Yahweh had said was evil, just like his father Menashsheh had done, and he sacrificed to all the idols that his father had made, and served them. 23 He didn’t humble himself and turn to Yahweh like his father had, so Amon’s guilt was even worse.

24 Then Amon’s servants conspired against him, and assassinated him in his palace, 25 but the local people executed all those who’d conspired against King Amon, and made his son Yoshiyah king in his place.

21 was_a_son_of twenty and_two year[s] ʼĀmōn when_he_became_king and_two years he_reigned in_Yərūshālam/(Jerusalem).
22 And_he/it_made (the)_evil in/on_both_eyes_of YHWH just_as he_had_done Mənashsheh his/its_father and_to/for_all the_idols which Mənashsheh he_had_made his/its_father ʼĀmōn he_sacrificed and_he_served_them.
23 And_not he_humbled_himself from_to/for_face/front/presence YHWH as_had_humbled_himself Mənashsheh his/its_father if/because that ʼĀmōn he_increased guilt.
24 And_they_conspired on/upon/above_him/it servants_of_his and_they_killed_him in_his_own_of_house.
25 And_ the_people_of _they_struck_down the_earth/land DOM all_of those_who_had_conspired on the_king ʼĀmōn and_ the_people_of _they_made_king the_earth/land DOM Yʼoshiy^yāh/(Josiah) son_of_his in_place_of_him.
