9:1 The queen from Sheva visits

Full kingdom

(1 Kgs 10:1-13)

9 The queen from the Sheva region had heard all about Shelomoh, and she came to Yerushalem with some hard questions. Her party included a large number of camels carrying lots of spices and gold and valuable gemstones. She came to Shelomoh and discussed everything that was on her mind with him.[ref] 2 Shelomoh responded to all her queries, and there wasn’t any subject that he wasn’t able to speak to. 3 When the queen from Sheva saw Shelomoh’s wisdom, and saw the palace that he’d built 4 and the food at his table, as well as the seating of his servants, his well-dressed ministers standing by, his cup-bearers in their uniforms, and the burnt offerings that he sacrificed at Yahweh’s temple, it took her breath away 5 and she told the king, “Everything I heard in my own country about you and you wisdom was true. 6 I didn’t believe what they reported to me until I saw it with my own eyes, and wow, the reports that I heard didn’t even cover half of the extent of your wisdom! 7 Your men are blessed, and even your servants are blessed to be able to continually stand in front of you and listen to your wisdom. 8 Let your god Yahweh be blessed—the one who delighted in you to place you on his throne as his king. Your god loved Yisrael and wanted to establish them forever, so he’s placed you over them as king—to give justice and do what is right.”

9 Then she gave the king four tonnes of gold, a very large quantity of spices, and valuable gemstones. Nobody before had ever seen such a large amount of spices as what the queen from Sheva gave to King Shelomoh.

10 (Also, King Huram’s servants working together with Shelomoh’s servants brought gold from Ofir, as well as algum wood and valuable gemstones. 11 The king made the algum wood into staircases for Yahweh’s temple and for the king’s palace, and into lyres and harps for the singers. Nothing like that had been seen before in Yehudah.)

12 King Shelomoh gave the queen from Sheba everything she wanted—more than what she’d brought to the king. Then she departed with her servants and went back to her country.

9 and_queen_of Shəⱱāʼ she_heard DOM the_report_of Shəlomoh and_came to_test DOM Shəlomoh in/on/at/with_hard_questions in/on/at/with_Yərūshālam/(Jerusalem) in/on/at/with_retinue numerous very and_camels which_were_carrying spices and_gold to_increase_in_number and_stone_of precious and_came to Shəlomoh and_spoke with_him/it DOM all_of that it_was with mind_of_her.
2 And_answered to/for_her/it Shəlomoh DOM all_of questions_of_her and_not it_was_concealed anything from_Shəlomoh which not he_told to/for_her/it.
3 And_ the_queen_of _she/it_saw of_Shəⱱāʼ DOM the_wisdom_of Shəlomoh/(Solomon) and_the_house which he_had_built.
4 And_food_of table_of_his and_seating_of officials_of_his and_attendance_of servants_of_his and_clothing_of_their and_cupbearers_of_his and_clothing_of_their and_burnt_offerings_of_his which he_went_up the_house_of YHWH and_not it_was still in/on/at/with_her breath.
5 And_she/it_said to the_king is_truth the_report which I_heard in/on/at/with_land_of_my_own on messages_of_your and_of wisdom_of_your.
6 And_not I_believed in_reports_of_their until that I_came and_saw eyes_of_my_own and_see/lo/see not it_was_told to_me the_half_of the_greatness_of wisdom_of_your you_have_added to the_report which I_heard.
7 How_blessed men_of_your and_happy your_servants these the_stand to_your_face continually and_hear DOM wisdom_of_your.
8 May_he_be YHWH god_of_your blessed who he_has_delighted in/on/at/with_you to_put_you on throne_of_his as_king to/for_YHWH god_of_your in/on/at/with_loved god_of_your DOM Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) to_establish_them to_forever and_made_you over_them as_king for_doing justice and_righteousness.
9 And_she/it_gave to/for_the_king one_hundred and_twenty talent[s]_of gold and_spices to_increase_in_number exceedingly and_stone_of precious and_not it_has_been as_the_spices (the)_that which she_gave the_queen_of Shəⱱāʼ to/for_the_king Shəlomoh/(Solomon).
10 And_also the_servants_of Ḩūrām[fn] and_servants_of Shəlomoh who they_brought gold from_ʼŌfīr they_brought wood(s)_of algum(s) and_stone_of precious.
11 And_he/it_made the_king DOM the_wood(s)_of the_algum tracks for_house_of YHWH and_for_palace_of the_king and_lyres and_harps for_the_singers and_not they_had_been_seen like_them to/for_before in_land of_Yəhūdāh/(Judah).
12 And_the_king Shəlomoh he_gave to_queen_of Shəⱱāʼ DOM all_of desire_of_her which she_asked more_than that_which she_had_brought to the_king and_turned and_returned to_land_of_her_own she and_servants_of_her.
