11:1 The peaceful kingdom

11 Then a shoot will come out from the stump of Yishay (Jesse),

and a branch from his roots will grow to produce fruit.[ref]

2 Yahweh’s spirit will be with him—

a spirit of wisdom and understanding,

a spirit of good advice and strength,

a spirit of knowledge and striving to obey Yahweh.

3 ≈ He’ll be happy to respect and honour Yahweh.

He won’t judge just by what can be seen,

≈ or make decisions just from what can be heard.
