15:20 Cities captured by Yehudah’s descendants

20This is Yehudah’s inheritance according to their clans: 21The cities at the edge of Yehudah’s block toward the border with Edom in Negev were Kabzeel, Eder, Yagur, 22Kinah, Dimonah, Adadah, 23Kedesh, Hatsor, Ithnan, 24Zif, Telem, Bealot, 25Hatsor-Hadattah, Keriot-Hezron (also called Hatsor), 26Amam, Shema, Molodah, 27Hazar-Gaddah, Heshmon, Beyt-Pelet, 28Hazar-Shual, Beersheba, and Biziothiah, 29Baalah, Iyim, Ezem, 30Eltolad, Kesil, Hormah, 31Ziklag, Madmannah, Sansannah, 32Lebaot, Shilhim, Ain, and Rimmona total of twenty-nine cities as well as their villages.

33Then down in the lowlands were Eshtaol, Zorah, Ashnah, 34Zanoah, En-Gannim, Tappuah, Enam, 35Yarmut, Adullam, Sokoh, Azekah, 36Shaaraim, Adithaim, and Gederah (also called Gederothaim)—a total of fourteen cities as well as their surrounding villages.

37Also Zenan, Hadashah, Migdal-Gad, 38Dilean, Mizpah, Yoktheel, 39Lachish, Bozkat, Eglon, 40Kabbon, Lahmas, Kitlish, 41Gederot, Beyt-Dagon, Naamah, and Makkedah—sixteen cities as well as their villages.

42Also Libnah, Ether, Ashan, 43Yiftah, Ashnah, Nezib, 44Keilah, Akzib, and Mareshanine cities as well as their villages.

45Also Ekron with its towns and villages 46from Ekron to the Mediterraneanthose near Ashdod and their villages.

47Also Ashdod and its towns and its villages, Gaza and its towns and its villages, as far as the riverbed of Egypt and the Mediterranean sea and the border.

48Also in the hill country: Shamir, Yattir, Socoh, 49Dannah, Kiriat-Sannah (also called Debir), 50Anab, Eshtemoh, Anim, 51Goshen, Holon, and Giloh—eleven cities as well as their villages.

52Also Arab, Dumah, Eshan, 53Yanim, Beyt-Tappuah, Afekah, 54Humtah, and Kiriat-Arba (also called Hebron) and Zior—nine cities as well as their villages.

55Also Maon, Karmel, Zif, Yuttah, 56Yezreel, Yokdeam, Zanoah, 57Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah—ten cities as well as their villages.

58Also Halhul, Beyt-Zur, Gedor, 59Maarath, Beyt-Anot, and Eltekonsix cities as well as their villages.

60Also Kiriat-Baal (also called Kiriat-Yearim) and Rabbah—two cities as well as their villages.

61In the wilderness, Beyt-Arabah, Middin, Secacah, 62Nibshan, the City of Salt, and En-Gedi—six cities as well as their villages.

63But Yehudah’s descendants weren’t able to defeat the Yebusites who lived in Yerusalem, so they have lived among the tribe of Yehudah to this day.[ref]
