25 And David and the commanders of the army separated for service the sons of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, prophesying with harps, with lyres, and with cymbals. And the number of the men of work for their service was: 2 From the sons of Asaph: Zaccur and Joseph and Nethaniah and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph, at the hand of Asaph, prophesying at the hands of the king. 3 From Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah and Zeri and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah and Mattithiah—six, at the hands of their father Jeduthun, prophesying with the harp in order to thank and to praise Yahweh. 4 Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shubael, and Jerimoth; Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti Ezer; Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth. 5 All of these were sons of Heman, the seer of the king, by the words of God to lift up his horn. For God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. 6 All of these were at the hands of their father in the song of the house of Yahweh with cymbals, lyres, and harps for the service of the house of God. At the hands of the king were Asaph and Jeduthun and Heman. 7 And their number, with their brothers having been taught the song of Yahweh, all of the ones understanding, was 288. 8 And they cast lots for a duty, just as like small, like great, the one understanding with the student.

9 And the first lot came out for Asaph, for Joseph; the second, Gedaliah, him and his brothers and his sons, 12; 10 the third, Zaccur, his sons and his brothers, 12; 11 the fourth for Izri, his sons and his brothers, 12; 12 the fifth Nethaniah, his sons and his brothers, 12; 13 the sixth, Bukkiah, his sons and his brothers, 12; 14 the seventh, Jesarelah, his sons and his brothers, 12; 15 the eighth, Jeshaiah, his sons and his brothers, 12; 16 the ninth, Mattaniah, his sons and his brothers, 12; 17 the tenth, Shimei, his sons and his brothers, 12; 18 the eleventh Azarel, his sons and his brothers, 12; 19 the twelfth, for Hashabiah, his sons and his brothers, 12; 20 for the thirteenth, Shubael, his sons and his brothers, 12; 21 for the fourteenth, Mattithiah, his sons and his brothers, 12; 22 for the fifteenth. for Jerimoth, his sons and his brothers, 12; 23 for the sixteenth, for Hananiah, his sons and his brothers, 12; 24 for the seventeenth. for Joshbekashah, his sons and his brothers, 12; 25 for the eighteenth, for Hanani, his sons and his brothers, 12; 26 for the nineteenth, for Mallothi, his sons and his brothers, 12; 27 for the twentieth, for Eliathah, his sons and his brothers, 12; 28 for the twenty-first, for Hothir, his sons and his brothers, 12; 29 for the twenty-second, for Giddalti, his sons and his brothers, 12; 30 for the twenty-third, for Mahazioth, his sons and his brothers, 12; 31 for the twenty-fourth, for Romamti Ezer, his sons and his brothers, 12.
