Psalm 82

A psalm. Of Asaph.

God is standing in the congregation of God;

in the midst of gods he judges:

2 “Until when will you judge, with injustice

and lift up the faces of the wicked? Selah

3 Judge the poor and the orphan;

vindicate the poor and the destitute.

4 Rescue the poor and the needy;

deliver, them from the hand of the wicked.

5 They do not know and they do not understand;

they walk about in darkness.

All of the foundations of the earth are shaken.

6 I, I said, ‘You, are gods

and sons of the Most High, all of you.

7 But you will die like man,

and like one of the princes, you will fall.’ ”

8 Arise, God, judge the earth,

for you, you will inherit among all of the nations.
