Psalm 80

80 For the chief musician; testimony. Asaph; psalm.

1 Shepherd of Israel, give ear,

the one leading Joseph like a flock.

Sitter, on the cherubim, shine forth.

2 To the face of Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh,

awaken your might and come to us for salvation.

3 God, restore us,

and make your face shine and let us be saved.

4 Yahweh, God of armies,

until when will you smolder against the prayer of your people?

5 You have made them eat bread of tears,

and you have made them drink tears, in triple measure.

6 You have made us strife to our neighbors,

and our enemies mock among themselves.

7 God of armies, restore us,

and make your face shine and let us be saved.

8 You pulled up a vine from Egypt;

you drove out nations and planted it.

9 You cleared to the face of it,

and it rooted its roots and filled the land.

10 The mountains were covered, with its shadow,

and its branches, were cedars of God.

11 It sent out its branches to the sea,

and its shoots to the River.

12 Why have you broken down its walls,

so that all the ones passing, on the way pluck it?

13 The boar from the forest ravages it,

and the creature of the field grazes on it.

14 God of armies, return, please.

Look down from heaven and see,

and visit this vine,

15 even the stock that your right hand planted,

and on the son you strengthened for yourself.

16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down;

from the rebuke of your face they perish.

17 Let your hand be on the man of your right hand,

on the son of man you strengthened for yourself.

18 And we will not turn back from you;

revive us, and we will call on your name.

19 Yahweh, God of armies, restore us.

Make your face shine, and let us be saved.
