Psalm 30

30 A psalm song the dedication of house; David.

1 I will extol you, Yahweh,

for you have drawn me up

and have not let the ones being hostile

to me rejoice over me.

2 Yahweh my God,

I cried out to you for help,

and you healed me.

3 Yahweh, you have brought up my soul from Sheol;

you have kept me alive from the ones

going down to the pit.

4 Sing praise to Yahweh, you his faithful ones,

and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

5 For his anger is, for a moment,

but his favor is, for a lifetime.

In the evening weeping may come to lodge

but rejoicing, comes in the morning.

6 And I, in my ease, said,

“I will never be shaken.”

7 Yahweh, by your favor

you have made my mountain stand strong;

you hid your face, and I was dismayed.

8 To you, Yahweh, I cried out,

and to the Lord I pled for favor.

9 “What profit, is there in my blood,

in my descent to the pit?

Will the dust praise you?

Will it declare your faithfulness?

10 Hear, Yahweh, and be gracious to me.

Yahweh, be my helper.”

11 You have turned for me my mourning to dancing;

you have loosed my sackcloth

and have clothed me with gladness

12 in order that, my glory may sing praise to you and not be silent.

Yahweh my God, I will give thanks to you forever.
