Psalm 71

71 In you, Yahweh, I take refuge;

let me not ever have shame.

2 In your righteousness, deliver me and rescue me;

incline your ear to me and save me.

3 Be to me a rock of abode for coming continually;

you command to save me,

for you, are my rock and my stronghold.

4 My God, rescue me from the hand of the wicked,

from the palm of the one doing wrong and the one being cruel;

5 for you, are my hope, Lord Yahweh,

my confidence from my youth.

6 I have supported myself on you from the womb;

you were taking me from the belly of my mother.

My praise, is about you continually.

7 I have become like a wonder to many,

but you, are my refuge of strength.

8 Let my mouth be filled, with your praise,

all of the day, with your splendor.

9 May you not cast me away in the time of old age;

may you not forsake me when my strength fails.

10 For my enemies have spoken against me,

and the ones watching my life have consulted together,

11 saying, “God has forsaken him;

pursue and seize him,

for there is none delivering.”

12 God, may you not be far from me;

my God, hasten to my help.

13 Let them shame and finish, the adversaries of my life;

let them cover, with reproach and disgrace, the ones seeking my harm.

14 But I, I will hope continually,

and I will add to all of your praise.

15 My mouth will recount your righteousness,

all of the day, your salvation,

for I do not know the numbers.

16 I will come in the forces of Lord Yahweh;

I will remember your righteousness, yours alone.

17 God, you have taught me from my youth,

and to this I declare your wonderful doings.

18 And also until old age and gray hair,

God, do not forsake me,

until I declare your arm to a generation,

your might to everyone, who will come.

19 For your righteousness, God, is to height,

you who do great, things;

God, who, is like you?

20 You who have made me see many and evil troubles,

may you return, may you revive me,

and may you return, may you bring me up from the depths of the earth.

21 May you increase my greatness,

and may you turn around, may you comfort me.

22 Also I, I will praise you with the instrument of the lute

for your faithfulness, my God;

Let me make music to you with the harp, Holy, One of Israel.

23 My lips will shout joyfully when I make music to you,

and my soul, which you have redeemed.

24 Also my tongue will meditate, on your righteousness all of the day,

for they will shame, for they will confound the ones seeking my harm.
