ULTAnd you shall not pollute the land in which you are, for the blood, it pollutes the land, and atonement for the land shall not be made for the blood that was poured out in it, except by the blood of the one pouring it out.

USTWhen a person kills someone, it makes the land they live in impure. So, they must not make the land impure. The only way to make the land pure again is to kill the murderer.
