75:0 God the judge
75 For the musical director: a song by Asaf to be sung to the tune of ‘Don’t destroy’.
75 We give thanks to you, God.
We thank you because you reveal your presence.
People talk about the amazing things you’ve done.
2 At the appointed time I will judge fairly.
3 Although the earth and all its inhabitants shake in fear,
I’ll steady the earth’s foundations. (Instrumental break.)
4 I told the arrogant, “Stop bragging,”
and the wicked, “Don’t blow your own trumpet.
5 Don’t raise your head ready to charge.
Don’t speak with your nose in the air.”
6 It’s not from the east or from the west,
and it is not from the wilderness that lifting up comes
He brings one down one and lifts up another
8 because Yahweh has a full cup of foaming wine mixed with spices
that he holds in his hand and pours it out.
Surely all the wicked people across the earth will drink it to the last drop.
9 But I will continually talk about what you’ve done;
I’ll sing praises to Yakov’s God.
10 He says, “I’ll destroy the power of the wicked,
but will increase the strength of the righteous.”
