ὑπάρχω

Strong’s: G5224

Notes: Despite the fact that ἄρχων is anarthrous, the context would seem to imply clearly that the reference is definite rather than indefinite. With ὑπάρχω, however, there may be an implication of particular circumstances which are relevant to the context (see ὑπάρχω[a], 13.5: ὑπάρχω).; It would also be possible to classify the meaning of γίνομαι[f] and ὑπάρχω[d] as belonging to the domain of Relations (89), especially if one regards the occurrence of the dative of the possessor with γίνομαι[f] and ὑπάρχω[d] as being an integral element in the meaning.; ὕπαρξις and τὰ ὑπάρχοντα are similar in meaning to κτῆμα (57.15: κτῆμα) but are probably more generic in reference and more formal in connotation.
