28 And having _ been_ brought_ safely_ through , then we _ learned that the island is _ being_ called Melitaʸ .
2 And the foreigners were _ bringing_ about not just the having _ been_ ordinary human _ kindness to _ us , because/for having _ lit a _ fire , they _ received all us , because _ of the rain which having _ approached , and because _ of the cold .
3 But the Paulos having _ gathered some multitude of _ sticks , and having _ laid_ on them on the fire , a _ viper having _ come_ out from the heat , clamped _ down on _ the hand of _ him .
4 And when the foreigners saw the wild _ animal being _ hanged from the hand of _ him , they _ were_ saying to one _ another :
Certainly this the man is a _ murderer , whom having _ been_ brought_ safely_ through from the sea , the justice not allowed him to _ be_ living .
5 Therefore indeed he , having _ shaken_ off the wild _ animal into the fire , suffered not _ one harm .
6 But they were _ expecting him to _ be_ going to _ be_ being_ swelled_ up , or to _ be_ falling_ down suddenly dead .
But over much time , them waiting and observing nothing amiss becoming to him , having _ changed_ their_ minds they _ were_ saying him to _ be a _ god .
7 And in the parts about the that place , was _ being properties to _ the leader of _ the island by _ the _ name Poplios , who having _ accepted us hospitably lodged three days .
8 And it _ became , the father of _ the _ Poplios to _ be_ lying_ down being _ gripped_ with with _ fevers and dysentery , to whom the Paulos having _ come_ in , and having _ prayed , having _ laid_ on the hands on _ him , he _ healed him .
9 And this having _ become , also the rest which in the island having sicknesses were _ approaching and were _ being_ healed , 10 who also they _ honoured us with _ many honours , and being _ launched , they _ laid_ on the for our needs .
11 And after three months , we _ were_ launched in a _ ship having _ wintered in the island , an _ from_ Alexandria with _ a _ figurehead to _ Zeus_ twins .
12 And having _ been_ set_ down at Surakousai , we _ remained_ on three days , 13 whence having _ cut_ away , we _ arrived at Ɽaʸgion .
And after one day , having _ come_ on a _ south_ wind , the _ second day we _ came to Potioloi , 14 where having _ found the _ brothers , we _ were_ implored by them to _ remain_ on seven days .
And thus we _ came to the Ɽōmaʸ .
15 And _ from_ there the brothers having _ heard , the concerning us , came to meeting with _ us until Appios Market and Three Taverns , whom the Paulos having _ seen , having _ giving_ thanks to _ the _ god , took courage .
16 And When we _ came_ in to Ɽōmaʸ , it _ was_ permitted the to _ Paulos to _ be_ remaining by himself , with the soldier guarding him .
17 And it _ became after three days , him to _ call_ together the being leaders of _ the Youdaiōns .
And them having _ come_ together , he _ was_ saying to them :
Men brothers I , having _ done nothing contrary to _ the people or the the ancestral customs , a _ prisoner from Hierousalaʸm/(Yə rūshālayim) was _ given_ over into the hands of _ the Ɽōmaios , 18 who having _ examined me , were _ wishing to _ send_ away me , because _ of that not _ one cause of _ death to _ be_ being in me .
19 But speaking _ against of _ the Youdaiōns , I _ was_ compelled to _ appeal to _ Kaisar , not as having anything to _ be_ accusing against _ the nation of _ me .
20 Therefore for this the cause , I _ begged you _ all , to _ see and to _ address , because/for on _ account of _ the hope of _ the _ Israaʸl/(Yisrāʼēl ) , this the chain I _ am_ being_ encompassed in .
21 And they said to him :
We neither received letters concerning you from the Youdaia , nor having _ arrived anyone of _ the brothers reported or spoke anything evil concerning you .
22 But we _ are_ considering_ worthy to _ hear from you what you _ are_ thinking , because/for indeed concerning the this sect it _ is known to _ us , that it _ is_ being_ spoken_ against everywhere .
23 And having _ determined a _ day for _ him , more they _ came to him to the lodging , to _ whom he _ was_ explaining , testifying the kingdom of _ the _ god , and persuading them concerning the Yaʸsous/(Yə hōshūˊa) , from both the law of _ Mōsaʸs/(Mosheh) , and the prophets , from in _ the_ morning to evening .
24 And on _ one_ hand the were _ being_ persuaded by _ the being _ spoken , on _ the_ other_ hand the were _ disbelieving .
25 And being discordant with one _ another , they _ were_ sending_ away , the Paulos having _ spoken one final message :
that Rightly the the holy spirit spoke by Aʸsaias/(Yə shaˊyāh ) the prophet to the fathers of _ you_ all 26 saying :
Be _ gone to the this people , and say :
In _ hearing you _ all_ will_ be_ hearing , and by _ no_ means you _ all_ may_ not _ understand , and seeing you _ all_ will_ be_ seeing , and by _ no_ means you _ all_ may_ not _ perceive .
27 For/Because the heart of _ the this _ people was _ become_ dull , and they _ hardly _ heard with _ their ears and they _ shut the eyes of _ them , lest they _ may_ see with _ their eyes , and they _ may_ hear with _ their ears , and they _ may_ understand with _ their heart , and they _ may_ turn_ back , and I _ will_ be_ healing them .
28 Therefore it _ let_ be known , to _ you_ all that this the salvation of _ the _ god was _ sent_ out to _ the pagans , and they will _ be_ hearing .
29 30 And He _ remained_ in two _ whole _ years in ^his _ own rental , and was _ welcoming all the entering _ in to him , 31 proclaiming the kingdom of _ the _ god , and unhinderedly teaching the concerning the master Yaʸsous/(Yə hōshūˊa) chosen _ one/messiah , with all boldness .
