OET (OET-RV) The descendants of Reuven and Gad named the altar ‘Reminder’ because it was a reminder between them that Yahweh is God.

ULT For the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad had called the altar, “For it, is a witness between us that Yahweh, is God.”

UST The other Israelites no longer planned to attack the people of the tribes of Reuben and Gad and Manasseh because they had explained that the altar was a monument that proved to the eastern tribes that the western tribes also worshiped Yahweh as their God.
