Open English Translation EXO Chapter 11

11 Then Yahweh told Mosheh (Moses), “I’ll send one more plague to Par’oh (Pharaoh) and Mitsrayim (Egypt). After that he’ll let you all go from here. What’s more, when he does he’ll actually chase you all right out of here. 2 Go and quietly tell the people that both men and women should ask their Mitsri (Egyptian) neighbours for items of gold and silver.” 3 Then Yahweh gave the Israelis favour in the eyes of the Mitsrim (Egyptians). What’s more, Mosheh was very prestigious in the eyes of Par’oh’s servants and in the eyes of the Mitsri people.

4 Then Mosheh told Par’oh, “This is what Yahweh says: Sometime around the middle of the night I’ll go out around Mitsrayim, 5 and every oldest son in Mitsrayim will die, from the oldest son of Par’oh who sits on his throne, to the oldest son of the slave girl who lives behind the mill, as well as every oldest male offspring of your livestock. 6 Then there’ll be loud wailing right across Mitsrayim which will be nothing anything that’s ever happened before, and nothing like it will ever happen again. 7 But amongst the Israelis, the dogs won’t growl at any person or animals so that you’ll know that Yahweh distinguishes between Mitsrayim and Yisrael (Israel). 8 Then all your servants will come down to me, and they’ll bow to me, pleading, ‘Go, you and all the people who follow you.’ And after that I’ll leave Mitsrayim.” Then Mosheh left Par’oh in a fiery rage.

9 Then Yahweh told Mosheh, “Par’oh refused to listen to you, so that I’m able to multiply my miracles in Mitsrayim.” 10 Mosheh and Aharon (Aaron) had done all those miracles in front of Par’oh but Yahweh had made Par’oh stubborn so he hadn’t let the Israelis leave his country.
