5:1 Faith and love overcome the world

5Everyone who believes that Yeshua is the messiah has been reborn in God, and everyone who loves the father who gave birth to us, also loves the son that he gave birth to. 2We can know when we love God’s children: whenever we love God and obey his commands, 3because the definition of loving God[ref] is obeying his commands and his commands are not a big strain on us 4because everyone who’s been reborn in God is overcoming the world. 5So who can overcome the world? Only the person who believes that Yeshua is God’s son.

5Everyone which believing that Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa) is the chosen_one/messiah, has_been_born of the god, and everyone which loving the one having_bore him, is_loving also the one having_been_born from him.
2By this we_are_knowing that we_are_loving the children of_ the _god:
whenever we_are_loving the god, and we_may_be_keeping the commands of_him.
3For/Because this is the love of_ the _god, that we_may_be_keeping the commands of_him, and the commands of_him are not heavy, 4because everything which having_been_born of the god, is_overcoming the world.
And this is the victory which having_overcame the world, the faith of_us.
5And who is the one overcoming the world, except not/lest the one believing that Yaʸsous is the son of_ the _god?

5:6 God’s testimony about Yeshua

6Yeshua the messiah is the one who was born by water and blood and spirit—not by water only,[ref] but by water and by blood 7because there are three that testify: 8the spirit, the water, and the blood, and these three come together into one. 9If we accept testimonies from people, then God’s testimony is better, because God’s testimony is about his son. 10Any person that believes that Yeshua is God’s son has internalised God’s testimony, but anyone who doesn’t believe in God calls him a liar because they have not believed the testimony of God himself about his son. 11And this is the testimony: that God gave eternal life to us[ref] and this life is in his son. 12Anyone who has the son has life, but anyone who doesn’t have the God’s son, doesn’t have eternal life.

6This is the one having_come by water and blood, Yaʸsous chosen_one/messiah, not by the water only, but by the water and by the blood.
And the spirit is which testifying, because the spirit is the truth.
7Because the ones testifying are three:
8the spirit, and the water, and the blood, and the three are_there in the one.
9If we_are_receiving the testimony the of_humans, the testimony of_ the _god is greater, because this is the testimony of_ the _god, that he_has_testified concerning the son of_him.
10The one believing in the son of_ the _god, is_having the testimony in himself, the one not believing the in_god, has_made him a_liar, because he_has_ not _believed in the testimony that the god has_testified concerning the son of_him.
11And this is the testimony:
that the god gave eternal life to_us, and this the life is in the son of_him.
12The one having the son, is_having the life, the one not having the son of_ the _god, is_ not _having the life.

5:13 Living without ending

13I wrote these things to you so that you all could know that you have eternal life, that is the ones believed in the name and authority of God’s son. 14And so we have confidence in God that if we request anything according to his will, he hears us 15whatever we’re requesting, and we know that we’ll receive what we requested.

16If anyone sees a fellow believer committing a forgivable sin, then that person should ask God on their behalf and God will give life to that fellow believer. (But there is a sin that always results in death and I’m not suggesting that we should ask in that case.) 17All disobedience is sin, but there are sins that don’t necessarily lead to death.

18We know that everyone who’s been reborn into God doesn’t keep sinning, but the messiah who was born from God watches over them and so the evil one can’t touch them.

19We know that we belong to God and that the whole word is under the control of the evil one.

20We know that God’s son has come and helped our minds so that we could know the true one, and we are in the true one and also in his son, Yeshua the messiah—the true God and eternal life itself.

21You new believers, don’t honour idols.

13I_wrote these things to_you_all, in_order_that you_all_may_have_known that you_all_are_having eternal, life to_the ones believing in the name of_the son of_ the _god.
14and this is the confidence that we_are_having toward him:
that if we_may_be_requesting anything according_to the will of_him, he_is_hearing from_us.
15And if we_have_known that he_is_hearing from_us, whatever wishfully we_may_be_requesting, we_have_known that we_are_having the requests that we_have_requested from him.
16If anyone may_see the brother of_him sinning a_sin not to death, he_will_be_requesting and he_will_be_giving life to_him, to_the ones sinning not to death.
There_is a_sin to death, I_am_ not _saying that he_may_ask concerning that sin.
17All unrighteousness is sin, and there_is a_sin not to death.
18We_have_known that everyone which having_been_born of the god is_ not _sinning, but the one having_been_born of the god is_keeping him and the evil one is_ not _touching against_him.
19We_have_known that we_are of the god, and the whole world is_lying in the evil one.
20And we_have_known that the son of_ the _god is_coming, and has_given to_us a_mind, in_order_that we_are_knowing the true one, and we_are in the true one, in the son of_him, Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa) chosen_one/messiah.
This one is the true god and eternal life.
21Little_children, keep yourselves from the idols.
