ULT JOS Chapter 15

15Now the lot for the tribe of the sons of Judah according to their clans was to the border of Edom, from the wilderness of Zin southward from the end of the south. 2And the border of the south for them was from the end of the Sea of Salt, from the tongue turning southward. 3And it went out to the south to the Ascent of Akrabbim, then it passed over to Zin, then it went up from the south to Kadesh Barnea, then it passed over to Hezron, then it went up to Addar, then it curved around to Karka. 4And it passed over to Azmon, then it went out to the wadi of Egypt, and the goings out of the border were seaward. This will be for you the border of the south. 5And the border eastward was the Sea of Salt unto the end of the Jordan. And the border to the side of northward was from the tongue of the sea at the end of the Jordan. 6And the border went up to Beth Hoglah and passed over from the north to Beth Arabah. Then the border went up to the stone of Bohan, the son of Reuben. 7Then the border went up to Debir from the Valley of Achor and, turning northward, to Gilgal, which is in front of the ascent of Adummim, which is from the south of the wadi. Then the border passed over to the waters of En Shemesh, and its goings out were at En Rogel. 8And the border went up the valley of Ben Hinnom to the shoulder of the Jebusite from the south (it is Jerusalem). And the border went up to the head of the hill that is on the face of the valley of Hinnom, seaward, which is at the end of the valley of the Raphaites northward. 9And the border turned from the head of the hill to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, and it went out to the cities of Mount Ephron. Then the border turned to Baalah (it is Kiriath Jearim). 10And the border curved around from Baalah seaward to Mount Seir, and passed over to the shoulder of Mount Jearim from the north (it is Kesalon). Then it went down to Beth Shemesh and passed over to Timnah. 11And the border went out to the shoulder of Ekron northward. Then the border extended to Shikkeron and passed over to Mount Baalah and went out to Jabneel. And the goings out of the border were seaward. 12And the border of the west was the Great Sea and the border. This is the border of the sons of Judah all around, according to their clans.

13And to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, he gave a portion in the midst of the sons of Judah according to the mouth of Yahweh to Joshua: Kiriath Arba (the father of the Anak, it is Hebron). 14And Caleb dispossessed from there the three sons of Anak, Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai, the children of Anak. 15And he went up from there against the dwellers of Debir. (Now the name of Debir was formerly Kiriath Sepher.) 16And Caleb said, “Whoever strikes Kiriath Sepher and captures it, I will give my daughter Aksah to him for a wife.” 17And Othniel, the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, captured it. So he gave his daughter Aksah to him for a wife. 18Now it happened, in the coming of her, that she persuaded him to request the field from her father. And she descended from upon the donkey, and Caleb said to her, “What for you?” 19And she said, “Give to me a blessing. Since you have given me land of the Negev, you shall also give to me springs of waters.” So he gave to her the upper springs and the lower springs.

20This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Judah according to their clans: 21Now the cities at the end of the tribe of the sons of Judah, toward the border of Edom in the Negev, were: Kabzeel and Eder and Jagur 22and Kinah and Dimonah and Adadah 23and Kedesh and Hazor and Ithnan, 24Ziph and Telem and Bealoth 25and Hazor Hadattah and Kerioth Hezron (it is Hazor), 26Amam and Shema and Moladah 27and Hazar Gaddah and Heshmon and Beth Pelet 28and Hazar Shual and Beersheba and Biziothiah, 29Baalah and Iyim and Ezem 30and Eltolad and Kesil and Hormah 31and Ziklag and Madmannah and Sansannah 32and Lebaoth and Shilhim and Ain and Rimmon. 48And in the hill country: Shamir and Jattir and Sokoh 49and Dannah and Kiriath Sannah (it is Debir) 50and Anab and Eshtemoh and Anim 51and Goshen and Holon and Giloh: 11 cities and their villages; 52Arab and Dumah and Eshan 53and Janim and Beth Tappuah and Aphekah 54and Humtah and Kiriath Arba (it is Hebron) and Zior: nine cities and their villages;

55Maon, Carmel and Ziph and Juttah 56and Jezreel and Jokdeam and Zanoah, 57Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah: ten cities and their villages; 58Halhul, Beth Zur and Gedor 59and Maarath and Beth Anoth and Eltekon: six cities and their villages; 60Kiriath Baal (it is Kiriath Jearim) and Rabbah: two cities and their villages.

61In the wilderness: Beth Arabah, Middin and Secacah 62and Nibshan and the City of Salt and En Gedi; six cities and their villages.

63But the Jebusite, the dwellers of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah were not able to dispossess them, so the Jebusite has dwelled with the sons of Judah in Jerusalem unto this day.
