ULT LEV Chapter 16

LEV 16 ©

16And Yahweh spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they presented themselves to the face of Yahweh and they died. 2And Yahweh said to Moses, “Speak to Aaron your brother, and he shall not enter at any time into the Holy Place from house to the curtain, to the face of the atonement lid that is on the Box, and he will not die. For I will appear in a cloud over the atonement lid. 3In this way, Aaron shall enter into the Holy Place: with a bull, a son of the cattle, as a sin offering, and a ram as a burnt offering. 4He shall wear a holy linen tunic, and the undergarments of linen shall be on his flesh, and he shall tie the linen sash, and he shall wrap the linen turban. They are clothes of holiness. And he shall bathe his flesh in the water, and he shall wear them. 5And from the congregation of the sons of Israel, he shall take two bucks of goats as a sin offering and one ram as a burnt offering.

6And Aaron shall present the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself. And he shall make atonement on his behalf and on behalf of his house. 7And he shall take the two goats, and he shall make them stand to the face of Yahweh at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 8And Aaron shall cast lots concerning the two goats—one lot for Yahweh, and one lot for the scapegoat. 9And Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot to Yahweh went up, and he shall make it a sin offering. 10But the goat on which the lot for the scapegoat went up shall be made to stand, living, to the face of Yahweh to make atonement on it by sending it away to the scapegoat, to the wilderness.

11And Aaron shall present the bull of the sin offering that is for himself. And he shall make atonement on his behalf and on behalf of his house. And he shall slaughter the bull of the sin offering that is for himself. 12And he shall take the fullness of a censer, coals of fire, from on the altar from before the face of Yahweh, and the fullness of his two hands, thin incense of spices, and he shall bring them from house to the curtain. 13And he shall put the incense on the fire to the face of Yahweh. And the cloud of the incense will cover the atonement lid that is over the Box of the Testimony, and he will not die. 14And he shall take some of the blood of the bull, and he shall sprinkle it with his finger on the face of the atonement lid to the east. And to the face of the atonement lid, he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.

15And he shall slaughter the goat of the sin offering that is for the people, and he shall bring its blood to from house to the curtain. And he shall make its blood just as he did to the blood of the bull. And he shall sprinkle it on the atonement lid and to the face of the atonement lid. 16And he shall make atonement for the Holy Place from the uncleanness of the sons of Israel and from their rebellion, to all their sins. And thus he shall do to the tent of meeting, the one dwelling with them in the midst of their uncleanness. 17And every man shall not be in the tent of meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place until his going out. And he shall make atonement on his behalf and on behalf of his house and on behalf of the whole congregation of Israel. 18And he shall go out to the altar that is to the face of Yahweh, and he shall make atonement for it. And he shall take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat and put it on the horns of the altar all around. 19And he shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times. And he shall cleanse it and make it holy from the uncleanness of the sons of Israel.

20And he shall finish from making atonement for the Holy Place and the tent of meeting and the altar, and he shall present the living goat. 21And Aaron shall lay two of his hands on the head of the living goat, and he shall confess over it all the iniquity of the sons of Israel and all their rebellion, to all their sins. And he shall put them on the head of the goat, and he shall send it away by the hand of a timely man to the wilderness. 22And the goat shall lift on itself all their iniquity to an inaccessible land. And he shall send the goat away into the wilderness.

23And Aaron shall enter into the tent of meeting, and he shall remove the linen clothing that he wore when he entered into the Holy Place. And he shall place them there. 24And he shall bathe his flesh in the water in a holy place, and he shall wear his clothes. And he shall go out, and he shall make his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people. And he shall make atonement on behalf of himself and on behalf of the people. 25And the fat of the sin offering he shall cause to become smoke on the altar. 26And the person sending away the goat to Azazel shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in the water. And after thus, he shall enter into the camp. 27And the bull of the sin offering and the goat of the sin offering, whose blood was brought to make atonement into the Holy Place, shall be brought out to a place outside of the camp. And they shall burn with fire their skins and their flesh and their dung. 28And the person burning them shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in the water. And after thus, he shall enter into the camp.

29And it will be for you an enduring statute: in the seventh month on the tenth day of the month, you shall humble your lives, and you shall not do any work—the native-born person and the sojourner, the one sojourning among you— 30for on this day, he will make atonement for you to cleanse you from all your sins; to the face of Yahweh, you will be clean. 31It is a sabbath of sabbaths for you, and you shall humble your spirits—an enduring statute. 32And the priest whom he anoints him and whom he fills his hand to be priest under his father shall make atonement. And he shall wear his linen clothes, the clothes of holiness. 33And he shall make atonement for the Holy Place of holiness, and he shall make atonement for the tent of meeting and the altar. And he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly. 34And this will be for you an enduring statute to make atonement for the sons of Israel from all their sins, once in the year.” And he did just as Yahweh commanded Moses.
