For the chief musician; of David

The fool says in his heart, “No God.”

They are corrupt, they do a deed abominably.

There is none doing good.

2 Yahweh looks down from the heavens on the sons of man

to see whether there is one understanding, one seeking God.

3 The whole has turned aside. Together they have corrupted themselves.

There is none doing good, not even one.

4 Do they not know, all of the doers of iniquity,

the ones eating my people, as they eat bread?

They do not call, upon Yahweh. 5 There they feared a fear,

for God, is with the generation of the righteous.

6 You shame the counsel of the afflicted,

but Yahweh, is his refuge.

7 Who will give the salvation of Israel from Zion?

When Yahweh restores the prosperity of his people,

Jacob will be glad, Israel will rejoice.
