A song of ascents.

Abundantly they have afflicted me from my youth.

Let Israel indeed say:

2 Abundantly they have afflicted me from my youth;

however, they did not prevail against me.

3 Upon my back the plowers plowed;

they made long their furrows.

4 Yahweh, is righteous;

he has cut the cords of the wicked.

5 Let them have shame and withdraw backward,

all the haters of Zion.

6 Let them be like grass of the rooftops,

that before one pulls, it out, it dries up,

7 that the reaper does not fill his palm, with,

and the one binding sheaves, does not fill his bosom,

8 and those passing by do not say, “The blessing of Yahweh, be upon you;

we bless you in the name of Yahweh.”
