1 

Of David

To you, Yahweh, I cry; my rock, do not be deaf to me,

lest you be deaf to me, and I be equal with those going down to the pit.

2 Hear the voice of my pleas when I cry to you for help,

when I lift up my hands toward your inner sanctuary of holiness.

3 Do not drag me away with the wicked and with the workers of iniquity,

the ones speaking of peace with their neighbors while evil is in their hearts.

4 Give to them according to their work and according to the evil of their deeds;

give to them according to the work of their hands; return to them their recompense.

5 Because they do not give heed to the works of Yahweh or the action of his hands,

he will tear them down and not build them up.

6 Blessed be Yahweh,

because he has heard the voice of my pleas.

7 Yahweh is my strength and my shield;

in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;

therefore my heart exults,

and with my song I will praise him.

8 Yahweh is strength for his people,

and he is a refuge of help, for his anointed.

9 Save your people and bless your inheritance,

and shepherd them and carry them unto the eternity.
