58  For the chief musician; “May You David; miktam.

1 Truly, in silence do you speak righteousness?

Do you judge uprightly, sons of man?

2 No, in the heart you do wickedness.

Your hands weigh out violence on the earth.

3 The wicked turn aside from the womb;

they stray from the belly, speaking falsehood.

4 The poison to them, is like the likeness of the poison of a serpent.

They are like a deaf adder, that shuts its ears,

5 that does not listen to the voice of charmers,

one charming charms, being made wise.

6 God, break their teeth in their mouth!

Break out the fangs of the young lions, Yahweh!

7 May they be melted like waters, that run off to them.

When he treads his arrows, may they be as if they are cut off.

8 May they be like a snail, that melts; it goes away.

May they be like the miscarriage of a woman; they do not see the sun.

9 Before your pots perceive the thorn, like the living, like the burning,

he will whirlwind it away.

10 The righteous will rejoice when he sees vengeance.

He will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

11 Then man will say, “Truly, fruit, is to the righteous.

Truly, there is a God judging the earth.”
