A psalm of David

Yahweh, I cry out to you, “Hurry to me!

Give ear to my voice when I cry out to you.”

2 May my prayer be established, like incense to your face,

a raising of my palms, like the evening sacrifice.

3 Yahweh, place a guard over my mouth;

guard the door of my lips.

4 Do not turn my heart toward an evil thing

to wantonly act in activities in wickedness

with men, doers of evil.

And may I not dine on their delicacies.

5 Let the righteous hit me—covenant faithfulness, and he is correcting me!

Oil for the head may my head not refuse.

For my prayer, is continually against their wickedness.

6 Their judges are thrown down beside a cliff;

and they hear my words, that they are pleasant.

7 “Just as splitting and breaking up in the ground,

our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.”

8 Yet my eyes are on you, Yahweh, Lord;

in you I take refuge; do not uncover my soul.

9 Keep me from the hands of the snare they have laid for me,

and the traps of the workers of evil.

10 Let the wicked fall into his nets together,

I, while I cross over.
