3 The saying is trustworthy :
If anyone is _ aspiringto _ overseeinghe _ is_ desiringof _ a _ goodwork .
2 Therefore it _ is_ fittingthe overseer to _ beirreproachable , the _ husbandof _ onewife , sober , sensible , respectable , hospitable , teaching ,3 not winebibbing , nor a _ bullybut gentle , peaceable , ungreedy ,4 leading of _ hisown house well , having children in submission , with all dignity 5 (but if someone has _ not _ knownto _ leadof _ hisown house , how ˓will ˒_ he_ be_ taking_ careof _ the _ assemblyof _ god 6 Not a _ neophytein _ order_ thatnot having _ been_ conceitedhe _ may_ fall_ ininto the _ judgmentof _ thedevil .
7 And it _ is_ fittinghim also , to _ be_ havinga _ good _ testimonyfrom the outside , in _ order_ thathe _ may_ not _ fall_ ininto derision and the _ snareof _ thedevil .
8 Servants likewise should _ bedignified , not double-tongued , not addicted to _ much _ winenot greedy ,9 holding the mystery of _ thefaith in a _ clean _ conscience10 And also let _ these _ be_ being_ approvedfirst , thereafter let _ them_ be_ servingbeing unindictable .
11 ˓Their ˒_ wiveslikewise should _ bedignified , not diabolical , sober , faithful in all .
12 Servants , let _ them _ behusbands of _ onewife , leading of _ ^their _ childrenwell and of _ theirown households .
13 For/Because the having _ servedwell are _ procuringa _ good _ standingfor _ themselvesand great confidence in the _ faithwhich in chosen _ one/messiah Yaʸsous/(Yə hōshūˊa) 14 I _ am_ writingthese to _ youhoping to _ cometo you in quickness ,15 but if I _ may_ be_ slowingin _ order_ thatyou _ may_ have_ knownhow it _ is_ fittingto _ be_ being_ conductedin the _ householdof _ god which is the _ assemblyof _ god the _ livingthe _ pillarand foundation of _ thetruth .
16 And confessedly great is the of _ the _ devoutnessmystery :
Who was _ revealedin the _ fleshwas _ justifiedin the _ spirit was _ seenby _ messengerswas _ proclaimedamong the _ nationswas _ believedin the _ worldwas _ taken_ upin glory .
