4:14 Yeshua is our high priest

14 So then, having Yeshua the son of God who came from and returned to the heavens as our high priest, we need to hold firmly to what we say we believe, 15 because we don’t have a high priest who’s not able to sympathise with our weakness, but rather who’s been tempted just like we are yet he didn’t sin. 16 Therefore we can boldly approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help us when we need it.

5 Every high priest is just a person who was selected from the people to work with godly things both by offering gifts to God and sacrificing because of our sins. 2 He’s able to be patient with those who don’t understand and stray from the truth because he also is subject to weakness 3 and because of that, he has to make offerings for his own sins as well as for the people.[ref]

4 No one takes that honour upon themself, but they’re called by God like just Aaron was.[ref] 5 Similarly the messiah didn’t take the honour of being chief priest upon himself, but the one who spoke to him said:[ref]

‘You’re my son;

today I have given birth to you.’

6 And in another place he said:[ref]

‘You are a priest of the order of Melchizedek.’

7 [ref]During the time when Yeshua lived in a human body, he offered up prayers and petitions with a mighty clamour and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. 8 Although he was a son, he learnt obedience from what he suffered 9 and once he became perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all those who submitted to him 10 as he’d been designated by God as the high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

14 Therefore having a_chief _priest great, having _passed _through the heavens, Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa), the son of_ the _god, we _may _be _taking _hold of _our confession.
15 For/Because not we _are _having a_chief _priest not being _able to _sympathize with _the weaknesses of _us, but having _been _tempted in all things by likeness without sin.
16 Therefore we _may _be _approaching with boldness to _the throne of_ the _grace, in _order _that we _may _receive mercy, and grace we _may _find, because/for opportune help.
5 For/Because every chief _priest from people being _taken for people is _being _appointed in _the things for the god, in _order _that he _may _be _offering gifts both and sacrifices for sins, 2 to _be _forbearing being _able with _the ones not _knowing and being _strayed, because also he is _being _encompassed with _weakness, 3 and because _of it he _ought, as for the people thus also for himself, to _be _offering for sins.
4 And not on _himself anyone is _taking the honour, but being _called by the god, just _as also Aʼarōn/(ʼAhₐron).
5 Thus also the chosen _one /messiah not himself glorified to _be _become a_chief _priest, but the one having _spoken to him:
son of _me are you, I today have _bore you.
6 As also in another he _is _saying:
You are a_priest to the age according _to the order of _Melⱪisedek/(Malkī-ʦedeq).
7 Who in the days of _the flesh of _him, petitions both and supplications, to the one being _able to _be _saving him from death, with clamour mighty and tears having _offered, and having _been _listened _to from the reverence.
8 Although being a_son, he _learned from what things he _suffered the obedience, 9 and having _been _perfected, he _became to _all the ones submitting to _him the_cause of _salvation eternal, 10 having _been _designated by the god a_chief _priest according _to the order of _Melⱪisedek.
