David is using imperative forms, but he is communicating polite requests rather than commands. If the imperative forms Hear, be gracious to me, and be my helper do not communicate polite requests in your language, then use a form in your language that communicates a polite request. It may be helpful to add an expression such as “please” to make this clear. Alternate translation: [Please hear, Yahweh, and please be gracious to me. Yahweh, please be my helper]
