MSG(1-3)But there were also lying prophets among the people then, just as there will be lying religious teachers among you. They’ll smuggle in destructive divisions, pitting you against each other—biting the hand of the One who gave them a chance to have their lives back! They’ve put themselves on a fast downhill slide to destruction, but not before they recruit a crowd of mixed-up followers who can’t tell right from wrong.

NETAnd many will follow their debauched lifestyles. Because of these false teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.

LSVand many will follow out their destructive ways, because of whom the way of the truth will be spoken of [as] evil,

FBVMany will follow their immoral perversions, and because of them people will condemn the way of truth.

TCNTMany will follow their [fn]sensual ways, and because of [fn]them the way of truth will be maligned.

T4TAnd many people will behave in an extremely immoral manner, imitating the extremely immoral way these teachers who teach false things behave. As a result, unbelievers will discredit the true message/say the true message is false►.

BBEAnd a great number will go with them in their evil ways, through whom the true way will have a bad name.

Moffand many will follow their immorality (thanks to them the true Way will be maligned);
