10:28 Yehoshua attacks more Amorites

28 Then Yehoshua captured Makkedah that same day. They killed the king and everyone else in the city, leaving no survivors, and Yehoshua did the same to the king of Makkedah as he’d done to the king of Yericho.[fn]

29 Then Yehoshua and all Yisrael went southwest from Makkedah to Libnah and fought against it. 30 Yahweh also allowed Yisrael to conquer it and its king, and Yehoshua again killed everyone in the city, leaving no survivors, and he did the same to the king of Libnah as he’d done to the king of Yericho.

31 Then Yehoshua and all Yisrael went south from Libnah to Lakish, where they took a position against the city and fought against it. 32 On the second day of the battle, Yahweh helped Yisrael defeat Lakish, and they captured it and killed everyone in the city like they had done to Libnah. 33 King Horam of Gezer arrived to help Lakish, but Yehoshua defeated him and his men, leaving no survivors.

34 Then Yehoshua and the Israelis went west from Lakish to Eglon, where they took a position against the city and fought against it. 35 That day they captured it and killed everyone in the city like they had done to Lakish.

36 Then Yehoshua and the Israelis went west from Eglon up into the hills to Hebron, and fought against it. 37 They captured it and killed the king and everyone in all their towns, leaving no survivors the same as Eglon.

38 Then Yehoshua and the Israelis went to the city of Debir and fought against it. 39 They captured the city and its king and all their towns, killing everyone and leaving no survivors. They treated Debir and its king just like they had to Libnah and Hebron and their kings.

40 So Yehoshua attacked and conquered the entire region—the hill country and the Negev, the lowlands and the slopes, and all their kings. He didn’t leave any survivors but destroyed everything living, just as Yisrael’s god Yahweh had commanded. 41 Yehoshua attacked and conquered them from Kadesh-Barnea and as far as Gaza, all the land of Goshen and as far as Gibeon. 42 In one swoop, Yehoshua captured all those kings and their land, because Yisrael’s god Yahweh had fought for Yisrael. 43 Then Yehoshua and his warriors returned to their camp at Gilgal.

29 And_ Yəhōshūˊa/(Joshua) _he/it _passed _through and_all Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) with_him/it from_Maqqēdāh Liⱱnāh and_he _engaged _in _battle with Liⱱnāh.
30 And_ YHWH _he/it _gave also it in_the _hand _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel)[fn] and_DOM king _of_its and_he_struck _it _down to_the_mouth _of the_sword and_DOM every _of the_living _creatures who was_in_it not he _left in_it a _survivor and_he/it _made to_its _of_king just_as he _had _done to_the _king _of Yərīḩō.
31 and_ Yəhōshūˊa _he/it _passed _through and_all Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) with_him/it from_Liⱱnāh to_Lākīsh and_he _encamped on/upon_it(f) and_he _engaged _in _battle against_it.
32 And_ YHWH _he/it _gave DOM Lākīsh in_the _hand _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) and_he_captured _it in _the_day the_second and_he_struck _it _down to_the_mouth _of the_sword and_DOM every _of the_living _creatures who was_in_it according_to _all that he _had _done to_Liⱱnāh.
33 then Horām he _came _up the _king _of Gezer to_help DOM Lākīsh and_he_defeated _him Yəhōshūˊa and_DOM people _of_his until not left to_him/it a _survivor.
34 And_ Yəhōshūˊa/(Joshua) _he/it _passed _through and_all Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) with_him/it from_Lākīsh to_ˊEglōn and_they _encamped on/upon_it(f) and_they _engaged _in _battle on_it.
35 And_they_captured _it in _the_day (the)_that and_they_struck _it _down to_the_mouth _of the_sword and_DOM every _of the_living _creatures who was_in_it in _the_day (the)_that he _totally _destroyed according_to _all that he _had _done to_Lākīsh.
36 and_ Yəhōshūˊa _he/it _ascended and_all Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) with_him/it from_ˊEglōn to_Ḩeⱱrōn and_they _engaged _in _battle on_it.
37 And_they_captured _it and_they_struck _it _down to_the_mouth _of the_sword and_DOM king _of_its and_DOM all _of cities _of_its and_DOM every _of the_living _creatures who was_in_it not he _left a _survivor according_to _all that he _had _done to_ˊEglōn and_he _totally _destroyed it and_DOM every _of the_living _creatures who was_in_it.
38 and_ Yəhōshūˊa _he _turned _back and_all Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) with_him/it to_Dəⱱīr and_he _engaged _in _battle on_it.
39 And_he_captured _it and_DOM king _of_its and_DOM all _of cities _of_its and_they_struck _them _down to_the_mouth _of the_sword and_they _totally _destroyed DOM every _of person who was_in_it not he _left a _survivor just_as he _had _done to_Ḩeⱱrōn so he _did to_Dəⱱīr and_to_its _of_king and_as_which he _had _done to_Liⱱnāh and_to_its _of_king.
40 And_ Yəhōshūˊa/(Joshua) _he _defeated DOM all _of the_earth/land the _hill_country and_the_Negeⱱ and_the_Shephelah and_the_slopes and_DOM all _of kings _of_their not he _left a _survivor and_DOM every _of (the)_breathing_thing he _totally _destroyed just_as he _had _commanded YHWH the _god _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel).
41 And_he_defeated _them Yəhōshūˊa from barnēˊa and_unto ˊAzzāh and_DOM all _of the _land _of Goshen and_unto Giⱱˊōn.
42 And_DOM all _of the_kings the_these and_DOM land _of_their Yəhōshūˊa he _captured time _of one if/because YHWH the _god _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) was_fighting for_Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel).
43 And_ Yəhōshūˊa _he _returned and_all Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) with_him/it to the_camp to_(the)_Gilgāl.
