Notes: {'Caller': 1, 'LanguageCode': 'en', 'LastEdited': '', 'LastEditedBy': '', 'References': [], 'Content': 'There are certain technical problems involved in treating the series καθέζομαι, κάθημαι[a], καθίζω[a] ({D:17.12}) and συγκάθημαι, συγκαθίζω[a] ({D:17.13}), since there appears to be an alternation in meaning between (1) being in a position and (2) assuming such a position. It would be possible to set up two distinct meanings or to assume that the respective forms are essentially ambiguous. In general, however, the participial forms indicate a state of being, while the non-participial forms imply assuming a particular position of being seated. However, there are certain subtle differences in the tenses of the participial forms, and hence one cannot determine precisely what are the referential distinctions.'}
