This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.
12:9 The man with the clawed fist
9 After leaving that place, Yeshua went into the Jewish meeting hall, 10 and look, there was a man there with a clawed fist. So the people there asked Yeshua if it was permitted to heal people on the rest days.
11 [ref]“Which of you,” Yeshua responded, “if you owned a single sheep and it fell into a pit on a rest day, wouldn’t then grab hold of it and lift it out? 12 Now a human is worth much more than a sheep, so then it must be permissible to do good on a rest day.” 13 Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.”
The man stretched his hand out and it was restored—now just as healthy as the other one, 14 but the Pharisees came out and sought legal advice because they wanted to ruin Yeshua.
3:1 The man with the curled-up hand
3 And again another time, Yeshua went to the meeting hall and there was a man there with a curled-up hand. 2 The religious leaders there were watching him closely to see if he would heal the man on the rest day, and then if he did, they would have a case against him. 3 Then Yeshua said to the man with the flawed hand, “Stand up there in the middle.” 4 And he asked the leaders, “Is it allowable to do good on the rest day, or only to do evil? To save life, or to kill?” But they didn’t reply.
5 After angrily looking around at them, grieving at their complete lack of compassion, he said to the man, “Open up your hand!” 6 The man stretched out his fingers, and his hand became totally normal. But the Pharisees quickly left, and meeting with King Herod’s supporters, they conspired to kill Yeshua.
6:6 Yeshua heals the deformed hand
6 On a different Rest Day, Yeshua went into a meeting hall and was teaching the congregation. There was a man there with a deformed right hand 7 and the religious teachers and Pharisees were watching Yeshua closely to see if he might heal the man on the Rest Day so they’d have something to accuse him of. 8 But he knew their plans and spoke to the man with the deformed hand, “Stand up and come into the middle.” So the man got up and stood in front of them. 9 “I want to ask all of you,” said Yeshua, “whether or not it’s allowable to do good on the Rest Day, or only evil—to save life or to destroy it?” 10 Turning slowly and looking at them all, he then said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” The man did it and his hand was healed, 11 but the religious leaders were mad with anger and discussed among themselves about what they could do to Yeshua.
