4 Where do you imagine that the fights and quarrels among you all originate? Isn’t it because of the ambitions that surface inside you? 2 You all have wants that are not fulfilled so it leads to murder. You’re jealous and not able to get everything you want, so you quarrel and fight. You don’t have, because you haven’t asked God, 3 and when you all do ask, it doesn’t get answered because you ask with wrong motives—trying get what you want to spend on your own wants. 4 You’re just like prostitutes. Don’t you realise that if you befriend the world then you’re opposing God, so anyone who befriends the world makes themself an enemy of God. 5 Do you think that the scripture means nothing when it says, ‘God’s spirit jealously longs to live in us’? 6 However, he’s good at giving grace so that’s why it says, ‘God opposes proud people but gives grace to humble ones.’[ref] 7 So strive then to do what God wants of you. Resist the devil and he will flee away from you. 8 When you all approach God, he will move closer to you. So keep your hands clean you sinners, and keep your hearts pure you who can’t make up your minds about God. 9 Be miserable, and mourn and weep. Change your laughing into crying and your happiness into sadness 10 because when you humble yourselves towards the master, he will be the one to lift you up.

4 From _where wars and from _where quarrels among you _all are?
Not is _it from _here from the gratifications of _you _all, which warring in the members of _you _all?
2 You _all _are _desiring and not you _all _are _having, you _all _are _murdering and are _being _jealous, and not you _all _are _being _able to _obtain, you _all _are _quarrelling and you _all _are _warring.
Not you _all _are _having, because _of that not to _be _requesting you _all, 3 you _are _requesting and not you _all _are _receiving, because wrongly you _all _are _requesting, in _order _that in the gratifications of _you _all you _all _may _spend it.
4 Adultresses.
Not you _all _have _known that the friendship with _the world, enmity the of_god is?
Whoever therefore if may _be _wished a_friend to _be of _the world, an_enemy of_ the _god is _being _appointed.
5 Or you _all _are _supposing that emptily the scripture is _saying:
With envy is _longing _for the spirit which is made _to _dwell in us?
6 But greater he _is _giving grace.
Therefore he _is _saying:
- god against_the_proud is _opposing, but to_the_humble he _is _giving grace.
7 Therefore be _subjected to_ the _god.
But resist against _the devil, and he _will _be _fleeing from you _all.
8 Near to_ the _god, and he _will _be _nearing to _you _all.
Cleanse ^your_hands, sinners, and purify ^your_hearts, double-minded.
9 Be _miserable, and mourn, and weep.
The laughter of _you _all to mourning let _be _turned, and your joy to gloominess.
10 Be _humbled before the_master, and he _will _be _exalting you _all.

4:11 Avoid judging others

11 My fellow believers, don’t make false accusations against each other because anyone who falsely accuses or judges a fellow believer, is slandering against the law and judging it. But if you’re the ones judging the law, then you’re not a follower of the law but a judge of it. 12 There’s only one lawgiver and judge and that’s the one who is able to save and to destroy. So who do you think you are to judge your neighbour!

11 Not be _slandering against _one _another, brothers.
The one slandering against_^his_brother or judging the brother of _him, is _slandering against_the_law and is _judging the_law.
But if the_law you _are _judging, not you _are a_doer of_the_law, but a_judge.
12 one there _is lawgiver and judge, the one being _able to _save and to _destroy.
But you who are, the one judging your neighbor?

4:13 Avoid boasting and presumption

13 Now you all might say, ‘Today or tomorrow we’ll go into the city to work there for a year and do some trading to make some money.’[ref] 14 But you don’t know what tomorrow will bring, because what are your lives? You’re like a vapour that appears for a brief period and then it’s gone. 15 So instead of saying that, you should say, ‘If the master wants it, we will live and we’ll do this or that.’ 16 But as it is, you’ve all been boasting in your arrogance and that’s an evil attitude. 17 Any person who knows that there’s some good thing that they should be doing, but doesn’t do it, is sinning.

13 Be _come now, you _all saying:
Today or tomorrow, we _will _be _going into this the city, and we _will _be _working there a_year, and we _will _be _merchandising, and we _will _be _profiting.
14 Who not are _knowing on _the day next will _be, because/for what is life of _you _all?
For/Because a_vapour you _all _are, which for a_little time appearing, then also being _perishing.
15 Instead _of that to _be _saying you _all ought:
If the master may _will, both we _will _be _living and we _will _be _doing, this or that.
16 But now you _all _are _boasting in the arrogance of _you _all.
All boasting such evil is.
17 Therefore to _having _known one good to _be _doing, and not doing it, sin to _him it _is.
