This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.

6:5 Teaching about praying

(Luke 11:2-4)

5[ref]Whenever you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray in the meeting halls and on street corners so everyone will notice them. I can assure you that they’ve already received their reward in full. 6Instead when you pray, go into a private room and shut the door, then pray to your father who’s not visible to you. Then your father who sees everything will reward you.

7And when you do pray, don’t babble away like other religions who think they’ll be listened to just because of the number of their prayers. 8There’s no need to be like them because God your father already knows your needs before you even ask him. 9So pray like this:

Our father in the heavens

May we always honour your name.

10We want your kingdom to come,

and for your plans to be fulfilled here on earth just like they are in heaven.

11Give us everything we need today

12and write-off what we owe you

as we also write-off what others owe us.

13Don’t bring us to the point of being tempted

but keep us away from doing evil things.

14[ref]Because if you all forgive other people’s wrongs, then your heavenly father will also forgive your wrongs. 15But if you all don’t forgive other people’s wrongs, then your father won’t forgive your wrongs either.

5And whenever you_may_be_praying, you_all_will_ not _be like the hypocrites, because they_are_loving to_be_praying in the synagogues and having_stood on the corners of_the roads, so_that they_may_be_seen by_the people.
Truly, I_am_saying to_you_all, they_are_receiving_fully the reward of_them.
6But you whenever you_may_be_praying, come_in into the private_room of_you and having_shut the door of_you, pray to_the father of_you, who is in the secret, and the father of_you, the one seeing in the secret, will_be_giving_back to_you.
7And praying, you_all_may_ not _babble as the pagans for they_are_supposing that in the many_messages of_them they_will_be_being_listened_to.
8Therefore you_all _may_ not _be_likened to_them, because/for the god the father of_you_all has_known what things you_all_are_having need before the time you_all to_request him.
9Therefore you_all be_praying thus:
father of_us, the one in the heavens, let_ the name of_you _be_sanctified.
10/Let/_ the kingdom of_you _come, let_be_ the will of_you _become, on earth also as in heaven.
11Give to_us today the the daily_needed bread of_us.
12And forgive to_us the debts of_us, as we also forgave to_the debtors of_us.
13And you_may_ not _carry_in us into temptation, but rescue us from the evil.
14For/Because if you_all_may_forgive to_ the _people the transgressions of_them, the the heavenly father of_you_all will_ also _be_forgiving to_you_all.
15But if you_all_may_ not _forgive to_ the _people the transgressions of_them, neither will_ the father of_you_all _be_forgiving the transgressions of_you_all.
